5.0 out of 5 stars Works great even from 15 ft away !!!
I have been looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse for some time now. I wasnt willing to spend big bucks on a similar kind of product and this fits my budget and needs perfectly. I have an LCD TV that gets an input from my desktop computer. The distance between my sofa and the TV is about 15-20 ft. I tried a couple of other kits earlier but nothing came close to this...

I tried a couple of other kits earlier but nothing came close to this one in terms of the signal strength over s distance. I got this wireless kit yesterday and have been very impressed since - the keyboard doesn't lose a character while typing and the mouse lets me point precisely on the screen even from a 15 foot distance. My only complaint is that the keyboard is a little too slim and it might take a while for me to adjust but otherwise, I am very happy with the product.

I ordered the Iogear Long Range Wireless Keyboard and Mouse. All in all, the product is really neat and works great when it has power. If you are looking for a good, long range keyoard/mouse, I would highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars And the winner is..., November 26, 2008

Our main conference room at work has the computer and AV gear stowed in a media closet, with a projector and drop down screen on the other side of the room. It has been a struggle to find wireless input devices to run the computer from anywhere in the room. In fact, we've been through THREE other wireless keyboard/mouse combos before one of our client's with a similar challenge suggested this one. IT IS GREAT! No more dropped characters as you're typing, no more stuttering cursor movement. These devices perform flawlessly from any corner of the room. And the rechargeable mouse docking station is handy too. Bottom line: Great value, great performance! Thanks Iogear!

I bought this unit for a computer in the bedroom that is hook up to a 42" plasma. I wanted to be able to control the PC from the bed for watching DVR programs. The mouse works just great. The keyboard works well most of the time. Sometimes the letters you type do not register and sometimes the unit gets confused and repeats the letters over and over. Hitting the escape key tends to cancel out the behavior but it can be annoying at times. The battery life on the keyboard has been great and the Mouse recharges while sitting in the dock so no issue there. Again, not a bad unit but not the best choice if you are a heavy keyboard/mouse user.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent wireless desktop, January 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Iogear GKM541RA Long Range Mobile Desktop (Personal Computers)
I am very picky when it comes to computer equipment. So when I needed a wireless desktop I spent several hours researching before I decided on this one.

Range was a top concern. This was for my HTPC and had to work reliably from 10+ feet away. Most other brands I looked at would make no promises beyond 4 feet. What good is a wireless desktop if it doesnt work beyond 4 feet? I can say the range on this mouse and keyboard is excellent. It has worked perfectly for me with no lag or lost signals.

The mouse was another top issue. I am extremely picky about mice. I hate big clunky mice with weird shapes. I also must have 5 buttons. I can say the shape of this mouse is very nice and it does have 5 buttons. I would prefer if it had a side button on each side but instead it has both the 4 and 5 button on the left side. A nice touch is that the mouse is rechargeable. Just place it on the reciever and it charges.

The keyboard has a flat streamlined design. It is similiar to a laptop keyboard. It is not flimsy or cheap though. I also like the shortcut keys for e-mail, media player, etc.

It worked right out of the box. I plugged it into a Vista home premium computer and it worked without installing any of the included software which makes me very happy. I really dont like to install any device manufacturer software.

Thus far I am very happy with this mouse/keyboard combo. It has worked perfectly for me and I would recommend it to anyone. And as a last touch I believe the manufacturer warrants it for 3 years which makes it a great purchase in my book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Started strong, but quickly failed, July 13, 2008
This review is from: Iogear GKM541RA Long Range Mobile Desktop (Personal Computers)
At first, everything works. Then one of the extremely thin keys starts to stick... then another. You unstick them but now they aren't on the same level as the other keys. Then the mouse starts to go non-responsive -- first the motion is erratic, then the pointer starts to periodically jump around on its own. Finally the mouse clicks become unreliable: sometimes registering as a double-click, sometimes not at all.

I got just over 3 months' use out of this product before it became completely unusable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it!, June 12, 2008
This review is from: Iogear GKM541RA Long Range Mobile Desktop (Personal Computers)
I was so excited about this product when I researched it however, there were definite issues after receiving it. 1. if you accidentally drop it, the keys will stick on you. 2. the mouse never worked properly. My suggestion, would be to find a wireless board that is more durable and has a proven track record. Good luck!

1.0 out of 5 stars Problem with sticky keys, May 30, 2008

I bought three sets of this wireless keyboard/mouse combo, and initially was quite satisfied with the feel and compactness of the keyboard. However, that was about a year ago. Now all three keyboards have several sticky keys, and often it is difficult to get them unstuck. I am now at the point where I am wasting too much time fiddling with the keyboard and am just going to trash all three. Not worth the continual headaches. For this reason, I cannot recommend this combo (especially the keyboard), unless you are willing to replace it after a year or so of use.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you have a PC in your home theater setup you need this, May 9, 2008

This review is from: Iogear GKM541RA Long Range Mobile Desktop (Personal Computers)

When I first added a PC to my home theater set I was surprised to discover that conventional wireless keyboards have a range of only 3 feet or so. Not good if you are trying to work the PC from the couch. This set has the range to work from across the house which is a great improvement. The keyboard and the mouse also have a nice, solid feel and the mouse has a recharging cradle where you can store it when you are not using it. All in all, a very satisfying product.
