I wanted a small portable wireless mouse to use with my laptop and I first ordered a regular sized optical mouse which worked great but was way too big. Its clunkiness made me less mobile, which defeats the purpose of having a wireless laptop. The mini mouse was exactly what I was hoping to find!Anyways, I have had the Iogear mouse for about two or three months and I use it almost every day. I have hardly ever had to recharge it - the sleep feature of the mouse really saves batteries, and it is really precise! I am a graduate student in electrical engineering and I have to create a lot of drawings and circuit diagrams and run simulations, and the mouse works way better than my touch pad. It doesn't stutter or anything like that and it works on many different surfaces. I read the other reviews here before I bought it, and I was worried I was going to have problems, but it's turned out great! I figured I should write a review to combat the others since I have had such a good experience with it. I would highly recommend this mouse, and it matches my laptop perfectly. The mouse performs as well as it looks!

I have 10" laptop so I'd looked for mini mouse for a big while. I used ultra mini mouse from Targus before. It was a bit too small to work comfortably and it was too noisy in the class. Till I found this lovely mouse. About the right size for mini laptop, perfect size for hand. It comes with USB charger cable which I didn't expect. Everything was so cool until it was fully charged. Nightmare! I've got no control over the mouse. The USB receiver keeps turning off. I have to shake a mouse once in a while to wake it up. Moreover, if your laptop is very slim, the USB receiver might be too wide for your vertical USB slot. Although it has extra extension cable, what is the point of having extra cable for wireless mouse? However, I'm very impressed with Iogear design. I'll give it a try. I'll buy the mini optical one and I'll let you know how it works.

I have been using this unit for a few day and loved it. Now the however... the right click botton just quit working. Well, it works 1 out of 10 times. Pretty sure it isn't the battery because I replaced with new ones to see if the problem goes away.On another note - the bottons may be a little stiff and noisy for some. But I think it's acceptable. I'll contact IOGear product service tomorrow. Stay tuned...

The USB transmitter no longer communicates with the mouse, so basically I have to go through the hassle of exchanging or returning. The other mouse I bought (exactly the same kind) works great and looks good too. Go figure.

I asked for this mouse for Christmas last year, to match my white 12" iBook. I have used it often, and it works exactly as it should. The on/off switch is a great feature, to improve battery life - and when the battery does go dead, it recharges through the included USB cable. The only negative I can see is that the buttons are not programmable, so even though I mouse left-handed, I had to get stay with the right-handed definitions of primary and secondary button. I've been very happy with this product, and would recommend it!
***A later addition to the above:*** About a year ago, I got a new bluetooth Mighty Mouse(tm) to go with my newish MacBook Pro, and passed the Iogear mouse on to my dad, who's a Windows and Linux user. He's tried a lot of RF wireless mice, and this is the only one that has worked consistently for him. Good, dependable results on two or three platforms! What more can we ask? |
