Rev drive a good cheap backup option!, May 31, 2008
This review is from: Iomega 33402 REV 35GB ATAPI Server Backup and Disaster Recovery Kit (Personal Computers)
I bought this drive to backup about 20GB of data daily. The backup software works rather well and so far no backup problems. I would recommend for a cheap backup option.

Great way to backup your system, September 15, 2007
This review is from: Iomega 33402 REV 35GB ATAPI Server Backup and Disaster Recovery Kit (Personal Computers)
I just bought this kit (from somewhere else, $30 less than here) to do backups of my system which I hadn't been doing often enough because using DVD-RWs was such a pain...
This drive is great, with it's 35 GB uncompressed capacity and up to 90 GB compressed (though I suspect between 50 and 60 GB compressed to be more normal), I can insert a disk, start the backup, and walk away, in a couple of hours the backup is done! How easy is that?!
One tip though, don't bother with the CA BrightStor software that comes with the drive, all the reviews of it say it's not very good. I already had Acronis True Image and since Iomega say that Rev drives are fully supported by it, I decided to just use it instead.
One big advantage of True Image, if you set the backup priority to low, your backup will take a little longer to finish, but you'll be able to continue using your computer while the backup is being made. Very nice!
There is a 70 GB uncompressed version of the Rev drive but at almost twice the price, unless you really need the storage per disk, I'd recommed this 35 GB version.
