5.0 out of 5 stars These Drums Are Great
These Ion-Audio drum sets are wonderful. I can't believe all of the bad reviews I've seen on them. These drum pads are just like the one's that come with the complete sets (except for the rocker kit). They came with the mounts, and needed cables. I love these drums!

3.0 out of 5 stars GOOD!
I BOUGHT THESE FOR EXPANDING MY ALESIS DM5 E-DRUM SET, IT IS CLEAR THAT IT IS MADE FOR ION DRUMS BUT I DECIDED TO BUY THEM ANYWAY AND I INSTALLED IT AND WORK VERY WELL WITH MY DM5 MODULE. GOOD PADS! ANOTHER GOOD THING IS THAT HAVE THE VERY SAME APPERANCE OF DM5 PADS SO IT LOOKS AS ORIGINAL PADS.

5.0 out of 5 stars More fun than a barrel of monkeys, February 8, 2008

The first (main set) of these died shortly after purchasing it. Decided to give it another chance a couple of months later. You can't have more fun for $200.! Adding these two extra pads rounded the set out and gave me a low tom and ride cymbal. While not of professional caliber,a closet drummer like myself can have a lot of fun! The "brain" is made by Alesis and is very similar to their best selling SR-16.

I got these for a set of Alesis drums since they're the exact same pad. (Alesis and Ion Audio are owned by the same person.) The only downside if not using with the ION Audio set specified is that the mounts are for it and so are the cables. So if you've got something like an original DM5, you'd need a 1/8" to 1/4" cable or an adapter, and a clamp to fit a rack with 1 1/2" tubing. If you're replacing old pads or have extra clamps (or can repurpose)some, and have any 1/8" to 1/4" headphone adapters, neither is a problem.

Although the pads could be considered a little small compared to a real drum or cymbal, that's just what they are. If you need some of these, you probably already know that though.

These pads work great and take a lot of abuse, just like you'd hope.

I just got these today and so far they've been good. I'm glad i purchased them. I'm more relieved these pads come with the needed cables and mounts. For now, I've been using them as an extension to my Alesis and they've been triggering/working just fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value for the price, May 25, 2007
These pads match the ones that came with the original set and were easily added on. The only complaint I have is that the hardware was slightly different. Instead of the broad plastic covered wing nuts these came with standard tiny ones. Normally this wouldn't bother me but when you beat on these things for an hour or so you need to tighten everything up, the broad plastic ones are easy to locate by feel and don't hurt your fingers when you snug them up. For the price, this was a great way to bring the 5 pc up to 7 to better simulate a true 5 pc set with cymbals.
