A Satisfied Customer,
This review is from: Ionil T Therapeutic Coal Tar Shampoo - 32 fl oz (Health and Beauty)
I used this product years ago to control flaking along my scalp line but stopped using it when it cured the problem. Ten years later I developed psoriasis (guttate) on by arms, leg, chest, and finally at the base of the scalp. After working with a 'well known' dermatologist for over 2 years and trying numerous prescription products, with positive but not permanent results, I returned to Ionil-T. Allowing the shampoo to run over my body as I rinse my hair has eliminated 100% of my psoriasis. I am no longer using any prescription ointments. I do take a daily fish oil supplement and there has been anecdotal evidence that this reduces psoriasis. Still, I'm convinced that the Ionil-T is worth every penny.

This is the best shampoo for severe scalp psoriasis!,

If I could give this product ten stars, I would!!
Although I've had psoriasis all my life, it didn't affect my scalp until about ten years ago. After using lots of messy products and getting little relief, I stumbled onto this at my local pharmacy. Yes, it sure does have an odor (that quickly goes away) and it is a little harsher than my previous shampoo but it is so worth it not to have a flaky scalp! For the customer who finds it too thin and runny, why not try putting some into a squeeze bottle and applying it directly to your hair?

I've used another name brand Coal Tar Shampoo for many years. Since using this product I haven't noticed any difference. I'd conclude that it's just as good as the other product and costs less. This product left my hair feeling clean and with good body. I'd recommend this product to anyone with a dandruff problem.

The Ionil Coal Tar Shampoo worked well in eliminating my dandruff and it alleviated the symptom of my itchy scalp. However, it doesn't lather up as much as a regular shampoo, so I really don't get a clean feeling after shampooing. Also, Its smell is intense and somewhat unpleasant. It's evident why the name includes tar. Since the shampoo is to be used a few times a week, it's geared for severe cases of dandruff and psoriasis. Personally, it's much too strong, but I'll pass it along to some of my more flaky friends.

I have to give this product a good rating, because it worked effectively. There's a little odor, but the benefits outweigh that. My only concern is that the bottle is huge, and the label reads not to keep it too long. But good product.

I found this shampoo to be very effective! I do caution you on the smell -- it's very ""chemically"" smelling. But it works great! I didn't use the product every day, and if you wash your hair everyday, I'd recommend that you also purchase their conditioner, as the shampoo is a bit drying on hair. I found the product to be better than I had expected and it worked! I highly recommend this shampoo!

This review is from: Ionil T Therapeutic Coal Tar Shampoo - 32 fl oz (Health and Beauty)
I was at first skeptical about this product, because it had a consistency closer to water than regular shampoo. But the Ionil T Coal Tar Shampoo has proven very effective. In the three short days I've used it, my scalp problems have cleared up. I really was amazed, because for many years I've tried different brands, including others with coal tar, obtaining results only after a week or two of using the products. I've used this product according to the directions every day for three days, and I've noticed only a slight dryness to my hair. The odor of the coal tar is very slight compared to similar products. The only drawback I see to recommending this product is the price tag. Although in the long run, it may be worth it. For this reason alone, I give this product a ""four.""

The large size of this product is an excellent value for the price. The shampoo does an excellent job at helping cure dandruff and other problems of my scalp. Quick, effective, and economical! I'd certainly purchase this item again.

This shampoo does work. But just be careful -- it comes in a large bottle and the shampoo is very liquid. So it spills easily. It has a slight odor, but it doesn't last. I'd give it an A+ because it does the job it promises to do!

While it seemed to work, the product had a thin, watery consistency. I had to use twice as much as I do with Neutrogena T-Gel, because it kept running out of my hand. The smell wasn't nearly as pleasant and the lather was disappointing too. All things considered, I'd have to say ""pass.""
