The PoV (Point of View) USB Camera by IPEVO features an innovative pen-shaped body and a handheld grip. Attach the camera to any standard laptop screen or monitor with the included universal monitor clip for a traditional video chat perspective, or remove the camera for the freedom of a handheld perspective. Handheld mode, with its near-infinite range of viewing angles and distances, is perfect to capture everything the "talking heads" perspective can't, including closeups of business documents and images.

With a quick twist of the manual focus ring, you can make sure anything you're capturing stays in sharp focus, in a range from 40cm to infinity. For an even closer view, switch to macro mode to capture fine details, text, and more, from as close as 2.3 inches (6cm) away.

Taking snapshots is easy with the PoV's included Snap and Send software. One-touch snapshots can be captured with the PoV's built-in Snapshot button, while the Quick Send button is designed to work with Skype to send your snapshot to a fellow Skype user during your conversation. In addition to Skype, the PoV is fully compatible with most Instant Messaging applications, including Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and AOL.

Please note that PoV is only compatible with Windows OS and does not work with Mac. Try the IPEVO Point 2 View USB Camera instead if you are using a Mac system.

This is the 7th POV USB Camera I have purchased in the past 12 months. I've been getting them for friends and family alike. All praise its ease of use, sound and picture quality. The camera has a very versatile base which allows it to mount onto anything you need it to. The original software is not too bad either. All of the programs you'd use this camera with - identify it right away. Great value at a great price. Well worth buying.

I bought this to try to use as a document camera, but the manual focus and type of stand did not allow good photos of text - I should have bought the next model up. IPEVO Point 2 View USB Camera Not the fault of the camera, nor reflected in my rating - just a piece of information.

However, hubby now has a web cam for his computer. Works fine for that - picture and sound quality are good. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the quality of the mounting arrangement, not the camera. Mounting arrangement is OK but not the most secure in the world, and the swivel joint is a bit loose. Nothing I can't live with for the price, though.

It does have a mic, though it's not explicitly stated anywhere. You have to manually turn in on in Skype, FYI if you are a newbie like me.
