I am writing to say the exact same thing as the above 2 reviewers ... I have a 3 year-old daughter who got this doggie for Christmas and loves it. But our dog also lost an ear today! I consider our daughter to be extremely gentle with everything - strangely so compared to her friends and brother, but this toy is just not made well. It is totally cute and I loved that she got one because I loved mine when I was a young girl, but I am very disappointed with its lack of durability. I have NEVER seen either of my children be the slightest bit rough with it. I looked into exchanging it as a defective product, but I can't see any way to do so without losing 50% of its price because it has been over 30 days since it was purchased. I guess I may try to glue the dog's ear back on and tell her she can't use it in the tub anymore. Really disappointing.

My three year old loves her scrub puppy but it is already about to lose an ear. She has only had it since Christmas. With an better attachment system this would be her favorite bath toy yet.

We also got this toy for Christmas. It has only been played with for less than a month and only at bath time (so pretty minimally). The ear on our dog also fell off, while I was watching my daughter play with it - nothing too rigorous or out of the ordinary. Not worth the [...] I paid for this.

I bought this toy to offer as an altertive. I have a son that loves puppies, but he does not understand
That his stuffed puppies cannot swim. He knows that this is the only puppy allowed in the tub and pool.

I had one of these when I was a kid and loved it. Unfortunately the ears and tail are not durable at all on this one. In fact the first night my son used it the ears started to rip off. He was NOT rough with the toy at all. It actually happened as my husband was showing him how to shake the doggies head. Very dissapointing!

I should have paid attention to the other reviews but chose to take my chances since my granddaughter really wanted this for Christmas. She loved it but after the first day's normal use and the first bathtub experience, both ears were left hanging by a thread. I re-attached them with hobby glue and sewing them to the cloth tabs that were left attached to the head. So far, they are holding but shouldn't have to repair a toy after 1 day's normal, designed use. Very disappointing.
