2.0 out of 5 stars Great Product. Grate Price. Lousy Instructions. Will Not Last, March 6, 2009

This review is from: Iqua Vizor PHF-602 Bluetooth Hands-Free Device (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This Bluetooth is powered with a solar cell but if you leave it in your car where the sun can charge the battery the plastic will warp rendering the unit unusable. I tossed both of mine away within two months from buying them.

I owned a Blue Ant car kit and hated it. You could connect 8 phones to it, but you had to manually drop one and connect to another if you wanted to switch. My technology challenged Wife and Daughter found this too difficult, and I found it too much trouble, so after a few weeks we stopped using it.

I saw this unit and thought it looked interesting but the description did not give me enough information to make a decision so I went to Iqua's Web site and emailed them asking them if the unit would switch from one phone to another without having to do anything special. They responded in less than 24 hours and told me that if a phone was out of range for 6 minutes the unit would power itself down. Then when powered up it would search for the last phone it was connected to. If it did not find the last phone it was connected to it would search for any other phone it was paired with and connect to the first one it found.

This sounded great and the solar battery recharge was just an extra bonus. I ordered 2, one for each of our cars. When they arrived I got all 3 of our phones together and attempted to paired each of them to both units. I wasn't having any success and the instructions were so vague and the print so small that they did little to help me figure it out. The instructions are written in about a dozen languages and the print was so small that an old fogy like me, (I'm 63), needed a magnifying glass to read them. Once I got the magnifying glass I saw where I had to hold the power button until the, "Connect", light started blinking, then I could tell the phone to search and everything went without any problems.

I connected all 3 phones to both devices and tested them. At first I thought the unit was not finding a phone other than the last one it was connected to just like the Blue Ant, but finally I realized I just had to give it time. The unit will connect to the last phone it was connected to within about 10 seconds after powering it up, but with 3 phones paired to the device it takes a little over 1 minute for the phone to go through its process of realizing the last phone was not present and searching for, and connecting to a different phone. Once I realized this everything worked just as advertised.

To sum up... This device works great and does everything I want it to do, but if you are not Bluetooth savvy you may need to contact Iqua's technical support to get it working, and you may have trouble doing so because I found no phone number anywhere on the box or in the instructions, (I used my magnifying glass to closely inspect them to no avail). I did find a Web address and found a warrantee phone number on their home page. I guess that if you called that number you would eventually get connected with someone to help, but I never tried. Overall this unit is twice the Blue Ant and for half the price. I strongly recommend it even with the poor instructions.

My daughter bought this solar charging blue tooth speaker cell phone device today at the Apple Store. It was installed and ready to go in minutes. Paired to her iPhone in minutes seamlessly and the speaker quality is flawless and clear.
