Gripping Story Well Told,
This review is from: Iran Covenant (Paperback)
This action-packed story kept me reading. The character development is excellent, and the literary references add depth to the story. Can't wait to see the next installment of Jeremiah Adams' adventures.

Frighteningly accurate,
By Fierce Red Pen "The Red Pen" (East Coast) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Iran Covenant (Paperback)
I've only read part of this during an informal writer's conference, but it was riveting in how close the author comes to the truth. Nagle really knows this subject and it shows.

A Page-Turning Thriller,
This review is from: Iran Covenant (Paperback)
Chet Nagle has written a page-turner of a political thriller that is entirely believable. The characterization, including that of the villain, is excellent. In particular, the scenes between the two major characters, the American Adams and the Israeli Karlski, are wonderful, full of humor and fast-paced dialogue.
The torture scenes were vividly, nauseatingly horrible and I can't imagine anybody condoning torture after reading them. From that perspective, perhaps this book will help those who support the so-called "enhanced interrogation" techniques realize they are war crimes and should be prosecuted. The swiftly-moving plot propelled by its ticking clock is chilling. The author's expertise in the operations of the U.S. Defense Department and his insider knowledge of the Middle East convinced this reader of their authenticity. The subject matter -- US/Iran/Israel relations -- could not be timelier. One only hopes that the situation Nagle has fictionalized remains just that -- fiction. This book cries out for a movie adaptation.

A "24" Kind of Novel,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Iran Covenant (Paperback)
This is an action-packed and exciting novel. It has the expertise of the early Tom Clancy stories. I was impressed with Chet Nagle's detailed knowledge of munitions and bombs, but on the other hand, given his background, he would be expected to be an expert. The story moved as rapidly as a Daniel Silva novel, all of which I have found to be cliffhangers. And, for a change, this novel is not about Arab terrorists trying to kill Israelis and CIA operatives. The author has introduced Iran into the equation at just the right moment in time, even though I hope Dehesh is not a prototype for everyday Iranians. At a time when some may be going soft on Iran and its nuclear ambitions (I won't say who), this story snatches us back to reality. Nagle also paints a realistic picture of Israel and its players.

A Thrilling Page Turner,
This review is from: Iran Covenant (Paperback)
This book made me hit my snooze button several times every morning this week because I stayed up too late each night reading. Nagle is a talented writer who presents a terrifying account of a scenario that is not beyond the realm of possibility. The memorable main character, Jay Adams, is the new Jack Ryan. Make sure you read Woolsorter's Plague, Nagle's first book, before you dive into Iran Covenant.

Since I do most of my reading after I go to bed at night, I found myself losing a lot of sleep with this book! I couldn't put it down and just had to keep reading to see what happened next. Very good story-telling! I read it on Kindle, but I'm buying a paperback copy to share with friends and family. Can't wait to read his next book!

Congratulations on a chilling novel: Iran Covenant! It is a prophetic voice to all who twiddle their thumbs in naive hope.

The writer know almost nothing about Iran!,

I'm an Iranian and live since 10 years in The Netherlands. I've left Iran because I was (and still am) against this monster regime. They're evil that's right. They're looking for atom bomb of course and they'll do everything to survive. They might be after biological and chemical weapons too BUT.... the least thing you expect when you read about a regime is an almost close to reality structure of that regime in that book. The writer has used some real names in his book but the role and function of these persons are funny and have nothing to do with the reality. Khamenei is the supreme leader and not a part of a supreme council. This council should officially choose the supreme leader but it's almost more than 20 years that it's the way around!! Khamenei is since more than e decade the most powerful man in this Mullah's regime and Ahmadi Nejad WAS his poppet. Since a few years Ahamdinjead's group tries to have more of the power and the ruling regime and that's why he's in fight with the supreme leader Khamenei.
The book sounds like a very bad version of James bond movie without any taste. How can an Iranian submarine even cross the Atlantic Ocean?!! Going near The US coast?? Iran has small disel subs who can barely go out of Persian Golf :-) Wasting time was reading this book. A book about Iranian monster regime that gives a good view is "a time to betray" not this one!!

A SUPER Read,

After reading Paul Brooks' review, what more can I say. He hit the top spots, and used some big words like theology and eschatology, but I guess most of us understood what he was saying. Buy the Book!!! It's a great read, and believable. Thank God it is only fiction - as of right now. I anxiously await Chet Nagle's next book(and also Paul Brooks')!! Bill Oliver

As a retired military officer, I found this book to be very sound in fact based background, insightful in portraying the very serious events of today's dangerous, real life world, and the extraordinary political and miltary decisions that must be made by our leaders. Chet has an exceptional background plus the capability to organize and put into writing a theme that is so absoutely intriguing as well as being very, very sobering. I highly recommend this book for increasing knowledge in world affairs that definitely relates to our current time.
