5.0 out of 5 stars Foster & Allen's Ireland, December 30, 1999
This review is from: Ireland [VHS] (VHS Tape)
If you love Irish music or you love looking at the beautiful Irish countryside, then you will really love this video. Mick Foster plays the accordian and sings and Tony Allen sings and plays the guitar and all of the 32 songs are shot with spectacular Irish settings in the background. The video is 90 minutes and also includes Ireland's top step and set dancers. Some of the traditional Irish songs that I found to be the highlights of the tape include The Village Where I Went To School, Sweet Forget Me Not, Katie Daly, Westmeath Bachelor, Rare Old Mountain Dew, Mursheen Durkin, Rose Of Mooncoin, Cottage By The Sea and Danny Boy.

My wife and I have watched this celebration of Irish music more times than I can count, and still look forward to the next time we sit back and relax, have a cup of Irish tea, and enjoy it once again.

5.0 out of 5 stars We Have Old Ireland Over Here, July 25, 2002
This review is from: Ireland (Audio CD)
There are some CDs that are more than outstanding, and this is one of them. Each song is perfect for Foster and Allen, and their renditions will blow you away. Some are lively
("Hills of Connemara"), some are sad and sweet ("The Old Button
Box"), and this version of "Danny Boy" is one of the most
exquisite songs ever sung in any language. A wonderful listening
experience.

A very refreshing and pleasing style for listening. Pure "stand-up" musicianship. Has none of the "thump, whack, twang, and screech" element to which we are subjected much of the time. Music selection is excellent. Presentation is excellent.
