The other person who made a review wasn't thinking straight. Clearly when it says: Craft Thread, it is not embroidery floss. And a smart buyer will check all the other floss before buying one. So this does not deserve a 1 star rating. I have the floss in my possession from an outlet by my house and it is great! People mainly use it for friendship bracelets because they are better for it. Thanks

I often use this product in my art quilts. I have used it to tie off baby quilts as well. I love the range of colors and the fact that it is one continuous thread. I like to use to trim around appliqued letters to give them definition. It can also be used to knit or crochet small trims. My granddaughter friends used it to make friendship bracelets. It is pretty versatile. This package may seem expensive but it is actually cheaper than the smaller bags of this same product I have found in the hobby stores.

I stitch temari, Japanese folk craft of embroidery on a ball. I use a lot of pearl cotton 5. I find this to be a great, economical, substitute. The colors are bright and go well together. I have tried another brand of craft thread and the colors were muddy in comparison. I have been using this product for over a year and this is the brand I look for when purchasing craft thread. I still use #5 pearl cotton but using both on a temari is no problem; I can't tell the difference once they are stitched on a ball.

I have been looking for #5 perle cotton so I could crochet some cute doll shoes patterns (on Ravelry) that call for #5 perle cotton thread. What a happy surprise when I found this package of bright colors. It is labeled 100% cotton, but not labeled for size. However, visually it looks the same size as DMC #5 perle cotton, it crochets to gauge, and the little shoes fit the doll perfectly. Each skein contains 10 yards, and there are an assortment of about 25 different, and mostly bright colors, perfect for little doll shoes. The number of skeins for each colors varies from 3 skeins to about 9 skeins. I am very pleased with the quality of the thread, the colors, and most especially the price. I did notice some small dyelot variances in one of my colors, so if you need your skeins to match exactly, sort your skeins in good light before you start your project.

There are 150 strands, but not 150 colors. I guess that is obvious to most people, but I didn't realize it until we opened the package. My daughter is using the thread for sewing some beginner sewing projects and loves how much easier it is to use than regular thin spool thread.

The thread quality is good. I know you are only supposed to be using these types of "low quality" threads for friendship bracelets; however, I'm using it to learn embroidery stitches (figured might as well use cheaper yarn while I'm learning. Real crewel wool is $1.50 to $3.50 per skein), and it's working out great. I'm taking 2 points off for the lack of color choices. You'd think that with a 150 pack you'd get a lot of colors - nope. Only about 25. You've got black, white, a couple of greens, a couple of purples, a couple of blues, some pinks, some oranges, some reds, a weird burgundy, brown, beige, and that's about it. Plus, the distribution of colors is weird - I got 10 skeins of the weird electric neon blue, and neon green (which are my least favorite colors), but only 2-3 skeins of the more subtle green and blue.

After separating these threads into colors, I discovered that there is a nice quantity of the more common colors and a nice variety of colors. Quality of the threads is very good. I am pleased with the price for the amount of thread I received. Would consider buying Iris Threads in more colors.
