5.0 out of 5 stars Simple to Elegant Designs great for beginner or anyone interested in Iris Folding!
I purchased this book because I wanted to have something in hand that gave me ideas and examples of iris folded designs. Well this book does that. I'd downloaded the basic design from the internet, but I wanted more examples and designs to help me really get going. Well I've found it with this book. I've been very pleased with this book and it's beautiful card examples...

I purchased this book for the butterfly and guess what?... She doesn't give the iris folding technique for it...just a picture. There are far better instructions to be found free on the internet than this book. Totally worthless for the few instructions there are. It doesn't deserve one star but that's as low as I can go. I'm sending it back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple to Elegant Designs great for beginner or anyone interested in Iris Folding!, August 29, 2005
This review is from: Iris Folded Greetings Cards (Greetings Cards series) (Paperback)
I purchased this book because I wanted to have something in hand that gave me ideas and examples of iris folded designs. Well this book does that. I'd downloaded the basic design from the internet, but I wanted more examples and designs to help me really get going. Well I've found it with this book. I've been very pleased with this book and it's beautiful card examples. They also give you the template pattern for each design in the book. The variety of designs is just terrific and varied. It goes from a simple square to a hexagon, an egg, little squares, rectangles, elepahants, kimonos, flower pots, sunflowers, butterfly, dragonfly, autumn leaf, balloons, and angel wings. But the most impressive example they gave was the design with photos. The book gets very detailed so that you correctly line up and fold the photos correctly. You will be very pleased if you try the photo iris folding technique. I'd tried iris folding before and now I have really gained quite a bit since buying this book and trying the desgins. But I must say the iris folding with a photo has been the most interesting and fun design for me to try. It does take practice to get used to folding correctly but once you have it down it's just a matter of copying the desgin out of the book and placing your folded papers along the design lines. I would recommend this book to anyone who truly wants to give iris folding a chance or who needs some new ideas. Best of luck, enjoy and keep creating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very inspiring iris fold book, March 24, 2006
This review is from: Iris Folded Greetings Cards (Greetings Cards series) (Paperback)
I was very inspired by this book. The iris folded photos take iris folding to a whole new level. The cards are very creative and not all of them are basic rectangular shapes: an Indian style elephant card has an iris folded blanket, a Japanese lady with an iris folded parasol, and angels. Their rectangular cards great too and incorporate more than iris folding for embellishments. The only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 was that not all the samples had directions on how to do the cards. I also didn't like that some of the iris fold patterns given weren't numbered which is useful especially for a beginner.

I loved this book! I have recently discovered iris paper folding and was keen to find out a bit more and get some patterns at the same time. This book was perfect for that, and a visual treat as well! Highly recommended.

The product came in very good condition. It took a little while, but was coming from England, so I give it a break.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book, February 28, 2006
This review is from: Iris Folded Greetings Cards (Greetings Cards series) (Paperback)
the book came in great shape. i'm glad i found the book since i'm into iris making cards. there aren't too many books out there. there were alot of pictures and alot of patterns that i didn't have. i just stumbled on it at amazon.com. when you get more iris's pattern books i would like to be informed. i get many compliments on this kind of card making. i love the hobby of card making & enjoy using stamps, emblishments, origami and iris making and adding my oriental touch to them since I'm Japanese.

2.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK DOES NOT COME WITH PAPERS!!!, January 27, 2007

This review is from: Iris Folded Greetings Cards (Greetings Cards series) (Paperback)
If I had been looking at this book in the store, or if some bit of detail had been from the seller, I would not have purchased this book. I purchase books like these expecting a combination of instructions and the required special paper for the projects. The instructions are very good and detailed, but useless until I make a special trip to purchase the papers.
