"Iris" is one of my all time favourite songs and the one that introduced me to the Goo Goo Dolls, now one of my favourite bands. I play it over and over again and never get tired of it. The lyrics are powerful, heartfelt and deep; the vocals and instrumentals are memorable and haunting. I haven't seen the movie "City of Angels", but this stands perfectly well as a love song that is both amazing and unusual. I can't wait to buy the GGD album "Dizzy Up The Girl". This is an unforgettable, unique song.

This was the song that first drew me to the Goo Goo Dolls. They are now my favorite band. The lyrics are heartfelt and touching, while the music itself complements the words. Although this song is a further departure from the harder-edged music that the Goo Goo Dolls used to specialize in, the song is so sincere that it represents a step forward for the band, not a step back. This song recalls one of their other hits, "Name," on the album "A Boy Named Goo." If you like "Iris," you may like "Name" or "Black Balloon" on the album "Dizzy up the Girl." It's also neat to listen to older material by the band, like the albums "Hold Me Up" and "Superstar Car Wash." They are both highly recommended, but they are a bit different from "Iris." The music is often faster and louder. "Iris" is a song that appeals to many different types of people, while the band's earlier work is less accessible.

The lyrics and the emotion of the song makes it one of which I think is the best pieces of music ever created. Mike Manilin proves that he is one of the best drummers in the world, Robbie Takac timed the bass to perfection and it couldn't have been sung any better than the way John Rzeznik sang it. I've had 'Dizzy Up The Girl', the album which this song is on for about 2 and a half years now and I have never got tired of listening to Iris and don't think I ever will. I encourage people to listen to the words as well as just thumping their heads to the sound... after all, why are songs written? Thing is... why are us British too stubborn to welcome their talent here? Open your ears ppl....
