Who else but an Irishman can really do justice to Irish music! Daniel leaves nothing to be desired in this collection of 40 classic, sentimental, peppy, and nostalgic renditions of songs familiar to Irish people everywhere. They are unforgettably done in Daniel's beautiful tenor voice.

The accompanyment is perfect and assists in transporting this lover of 'Emerald Isle' music across the sea to a more serene and quaint lifestyle. Music has always been an important and well-known aspect of the Irish culture and has had an unmistakable influence on America's music.

Though every song is absolutely lovely, I can name some special favorites like the "Isle of Innisfree", "Blue Hills of Breffni", "Irish Eyes", and "Galway Bay" on Disk 1. On Disk 2 "Lovely Rose of Clare", "Green Hills of Sligo", "Your Friendly Irish Way", and "Belfast" stand out for me. And who is not familiar with "Danny Boy" and "I'll Take you Home Again Kathleen" done so beautifully.

For anyone with an appreciation for Irish music, or a fantastic and expressive tenor voice, or just easy-listening music with touching lyrics, this album is bound to please. I turn to it often when my mood needs soothing.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Irish Album, March 16, 2003

I have yet to hear a bad cd of Daniel O'donnell. they are all great and I haven't heart a thing that he can't sing. he has a wonderful voice and his stage presence is awesome and he is so personable with everyone. In fact I have all but 4 of his cds and I intend to get them all he is that great. I have seen Elvis. Toby Keith. Kenny Cheseny, Dolly Parton and he is by far the BEST......In fact we are taking about 6 couples to see him in Branson this year. everyone who has heard him really likes him. I think he should come to Wichita, Kansas and I will be first in line for tickets along with all of my friends. He is just awesome, Keep up the good work......

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Best Collection of Irish Music to Own, June 17, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Irish Album (Audio CD)
Like another reviewer, I'd give this album a hundred stars if I could. It's simply the best collection of irish music to own...with all the favorites like Danny Boy, but includes many that will capture your heart, like Heaven Around Galway Bay, the Mountains of Mourne, Come Back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff, Cutting the Corn in Creeslough, and many, many more. If you're already a fan of this remarkable Irishman with the golden voice, you will love this album, because it is simply a great collection of all the best Irish songs he does.
If you've never had the privilege of hearing him sing, you are the poorer for it, and should remedy it immediately by buying this album, and I also recommend The Daniel O'Donnell Show, live in concert for a real taste of the Daniel experience. There is nothing that compares to seeing this man "own" the stage (check him out in Branson at TriLakes Theatre) and relate to his fans (who are legion and very devoted) His voice is mellow and he covers all types of music, even releasing a recent rock n roll album that will take you back to the 50's (wonderful job on this album too) but this particular album is the best collection if you love the traditional Irish songs (and a few you may have never heard)
You cannot hear his music without coming away uplifted and feeling good....it is addictive, which is one reason his concerts sell out months in advance and he is an international star, a favorite son of Ireland, and sought after for concerts all over the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get your dancing shoes on!, September 14, 2005

I would give this 100 stars, but could only give it 5.Excellent introduction to some classic Irish Music as only Daniel O' Donnell can sing it. You cannot be in a bad state of mind and listen to this music, you will be singing, clapping and dancing along. A wonderful way to spend a few hrs of your day. It is a must have for any Daniel O'Donnell fan, or anyone who loves Irish Music, young or old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daniel O'Donnell's Irish album, February 23, 2008
This review is from: Irish Album (Audio CD)
I have had my Daniel O'Donnel Irish album for a few years and thoroughly enjoy it because of the Country flavor of the music and Daniel's smooth voice. I recently purchased more copies to give as gifts to some of my Irish friends who appreciate the same style of music as I do. Great album.

I am a second time buyer of this product. I purchased this collection many years ago in cassette format and was very glad to have it on CD. This music warms the heart and is very easy to listen to. I can listen to it over and over and never get bored.
