Book Description

January 1, 1998
They are merry and mournful, comic and poignant, dwelling on the everyday and the primordial. . .

So writes Edna O'Brien of the beautiful photographs in Irish Dreams. In this romantic voyage, Steven Rothfeld pairs his dreamy Polaroid transfer prints with eloquent passages by Thomas Cahill, Virginia Woolf, Eugene O'Neill, James Joyce and W. B. Yeats, to name but a few of the many writers featured here. Rolling hills in every shade of green, rugged coastlines, beautiful vistas, ancient monuments, village doorways, and red-headed children -- north to south, this picturesque volume captures the many beautiful faces of the Emerald Isle.
