A Sturdy Collection of Essays,

This review is from: Irish Immigrants in McLean County, Illinois (Paperback)
Soft binding, 77 pages. Good production quality with lots of photos, tables, newspaper images, etc. As a collection of essays, the quality of the contributions varies. The book would have benefited from a firmer hand in editing. For instance there are several pieces that rehash the same issue (mass grave of railroad workers) without adding any real insight or research on the topic.
This is a good booklet for anyone with Irish ties to McLean county. The essays also make good material for children's school projects / reports. |
