Wonderfully relaxing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Irish Isle (Audio CD)
When you think of Irish music you usually think of fast paced jigs and such. This album is a wonder counterpart to that - softer and slower music - good for dinner parties or just a relxing evening or lazy afternoon. I liked it so well I have given it as gift. If you like Irish or international music you need to have this in your collection.

Only one problem...,

I bought this because I confused James Keane with Jimmy Keane. However, I did recognize Wilifred Horan. This is traditional Irish music with some beautiful harp playing (showcased) on a couple of cuts. (Harp being an instrument I don't normally seek out). Fine players all around. You won't get blisters on your rear listening to this, but it's feelingly done. Lovely and laid back.My complaint - I like liner notes. Nay. I love! liner notes. This was about as thin as it gets. Apparently, this is a part of a series that has to do with food? etc? I don't mind a couple of recipes, but I DO want to know the history of the tunes (who wrote them, etc.) and a bit about the players. Hence the ding from 5 stars down to 4. |
