Not for me,

This review is from: Irish Magic II (Paperback)
This book contains four stories, all set in Ireland. I enjoyed the first one alright, but didn't finish any of the last three. They would be great stories for someone who's fascinated with fairies and the old language, music, clothing, etc. I'm more interested in the relationships between people, therefore the first one was a good story for me, but not the best. Also, although I and a couple of my relatives whom I trust have had experiences that are in the extrasensory catagory so I know that's a reality, I'm just not into casting spells, the rules of the fairy world, etc. There might well be some very good writing here, but it just didn't hold my interest past the first story.

A fun collection of four impossible love stories,
By Weeder (Worthington, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Irish Magic II (Paperback)
Each of the love stories were quite different although all included enchantments, sorcery, magical spells, and the little people. I chose the book when I noticed that one of the included authors was one of my favorites, Morgan Llywelyn. I'd never read the other three authors but was hoping I'd find another favorite. The last story in the book by Roberta Gellis reminded me a little of the Odyssey with the hero being required to do the "impossible" to pay the bride price for the woman he loved. The ending was clever and hilarious!
