Here are 100 reasons why - if you've a drop of Irish blood in your veins - you can certainly be proud of your heritage!Through bardic poets, the Irish have kept the tradition of storytelling and the accurate recording of history alive over the centuries. A few reasons included in this book for Irish pride: James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Brehon Law, the Wee Folk, Guinness, Hedgegrow schools, the "twinkle" of Irish eyes, rugby, the gift of blarney, Trinity College, that lilting brogue, Irish jigs, and Irish witticisms. The study of Irish culture and tradition reveals far more than just 101 reasons to be proud... if you were lucky enough to be Irish. Sonja Massie also wrote Far and Away, Dream Carver and Carousel. A great book, well worth reading. Even a chapter on "U2". |
