ok i own just about every flight sim out there and thought i would take a chance. the box looked impressive. but this came should be called card board aces . the graphics come across like early 1970s . it looks like you are flying if you can call it that crayon drawing. this is the worst attempt of a flight sim in the year 2006 i have ever seen . blazing angels got a lot of bad press. but the graphics are a 1000 times better then this flying cardboard drawing. with these new games you need at least a dell dimension 3000 and a new ati radeon card. but dont waste your money. sure the box looks great but its like buying a porsche with a moped engine. trust me go with il 2 or il 2 ace expansion pack it does not dissapoint

I paid $10 for it and it's not worth a penny. Poor graphics, poor controls, poor everything. Flight simulation is horrible. If a plane really had that bad a turning radius, it would take 10 miles to turn 180 degrees.
Reminds me of the original sub simulator game that I played on my original PC junior 20 years ago. This game is not much beyond that one.

As did another reviewer, I bought this game at Target for $[...]. I don't think I'd buy it again, but it's not as bad as all the one star reviewers make it seem.
The graphics are actually decent, but the simulation engine is slow and choppy, even on a dual-core 3GHz PC. A couple of the missions were so choppy because of so many planes in the air that I almost stopped playing. However, most of the missions were entertaining, if not novel or as exciting as with some other simulation games. In the end, I would have given this this game three stars, except that it misleads you into thinking there are "over 40 missions" - in reality, there are only 20, but they count each one twice because you can play each mission as either a fighter or a bomber. Whichever plane you use to complete each mission first (they must be done in order) is the only one whose "score" will count (which, I believe, is the same no matter how well you do). It's an OK game, but don't throw your money at this unless there's nothing better and you just want something you haven't tried before.

For everyone who wasted money on this 'game,' there should be a class action suit against the company! I couldn't find ONE shot in the game that matches ANY of the photos on the box. Also, the liner notes say, "Detailed Landscapes with Large Forests and Cities." Well, OK, IF you consider a triangle is a tree and a square is a building! I hope some bored Lawyer buys this game!

Iron Aces is not by no means a simulator. but a fun arcade game. Just simple fly and shoot! Don't misjudge this game because its not a sim
