Not Very Good,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

By paying a little extra, I hoped for quality workmanship and durability. Not so. First, when it arrived, I noticed that the outer rings were slightly oval, not round, and one of them wobbly when placed on a flat surface, so when stacked up, they didn't fit nicely. Second, the finish was a little rough, inside and out. Third, the rings fit too loosely. I actually found it remarkable that no steam leaked out given the poor fit. Finally, I've used it only three times, but the outer layer of one of the rings is splitting up. Very disappointing!

Make dim sum like a pro with this thing! Just as advertised. You'll need a huge wok to sit it in.

I was searching for a really nice bamboo steamer that was well constructed, durable, and looked great. It seemed like that this was the Rolls Royce of steamers considering its price so I decided to indulge and purchase this product. So today I got it in the mail and it looked liked what I hoped it would be. Bamboo steamers are very versatile and I wanted to use mine for a variety of reasons. If you only want to use this steamer just to steam, this is a great product, however, I also wanted to use mine as a pie carrier. This item on this website looks deep but it is actually really shallow. There is no way a pie can fit in this steamer so it won't be doing any double duty chores. I guess it is an unfair request to ask a steamer to perform a duty it wasn't meant to do, however, the $10 steamers I get in Chinatown are deep and make great pie and cake carriers. I think that for $40 it is not too much to ask that this steamer be as deep as its lower priced plain wrapped siblings. One thing I like about this steamer is the burnished finish. It looks rich and elegant. Here though is the achilles heel of this steamer; the Iron Chef logo is stamped in black on the side. I couldn't believe this. Bamboo steamers are such simple, utilitarian objects, perhaps one of the greatest cooking inventions ever made. Do you really want to be staring at an Iron Chef logo when you are steaming your vegetables? I sure don't. So I can't use it to carry my apple pie. I can live with that. I can't however, live with advertising on the side of my bamboo steamer. I will be returning this.
