Didnt actually 'hate' the item........

Purchased as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. The clasp would not hold, the item clearly defective. Tried to return for replacement of exact item, and was told I had to return it and re-purchase at a higher price because it is sold by 2nd party.
The extra cost was only a couple of bucks but the policy flabbergasted me....I think the defective item should have been replaced at the SAME cost.
