You should meet Deets Shanahan!,

Ron Tierney is still creating books in this series but the older copies are harder to come by. Pity! It is a great series with wonderful and colorful characters. Deets Shanahan is a 70-year-old private detective. He lives with his 40 something down-to-earth girlfriend, Marlene. He has Howie, a younger private eye who gets into as much trouble as he solves, James, his motorcycle riding lawyer and Henry his bar tender who needs a new recipe for stew. All together they make a warm, funny, and gritty mystery story. I highly recommend you meet Deets Shanhan and his crew and spend a lot of time with them.
