Adelle Laudan is an author with a mission: Since she loves "riding the wind" on her motorcycle, her ambition is to introduce mainstream readers to the biking world as she lives it--a world where people enjoy the feel of the wind on their faces--and the many good men and women who inhabit that world. Some are rough around the edges, to be sure, but they are family-oriented, just like you and me.

Iron Horse Rider is the first book in a series and, even though short, it kept me glued to my seat, wondering what would happen to Shane after he loses his beloved wife Kelly. My heart breaks for Shane because before he meets Kelly he has no family, only a group of bikers who adopt him into their family.

When Shane was a child, his father had ridden off and never returned, leaving his mother to cope alone. She developed her own problems, thus leaving Shane to fend for himself. Shane is determined to remain a bachelor, so can't believe his good fortune when he falls head over heels for Kelly and she agrees to marry him.

Ten years into a happy, ideal marriage, tragedy strikes and Kelly is killed in a motorcycle accident. Her death hits him so hard he can't remain in their home where everything reminds him of her. So, like his father before him, he rides off "into the wind" on his "iron horse" that he fondly calls Belle.

Who is the mysterious, ghostly stranger who just "happens" to be everywhere that Shane camps along the way? What happens to Shane when he is "directed" to an Indian Camp and meets Chief Gray Owl and his beautiful daughter Tia?

LJ James Book Review :Iron Horse Rider

When I received the Novel "Iron Horse Rider" from the Author Adelle "Legs" Laudan I have to admit I was expecting a book about a Biker fighting and causing trouble. You know your Typical Biker Bad Boy Story. What I received was something I was not expecting at all.

The Novel Tells the story of a hardcore biker named Shane, Shane had always kept women at arms length and showed them no emotion, That was until he met Kelly. Try as he might this biker who had always kept to himself could not fight off his feelings for her and soon found himself Married to the Women of his dreams.

After 10 years of Marriage Kelly is taken from Shane in a Tragic accident while they are Ridding. Shane finds everything around him reminds him of Kelly, His home, his shop, even his Clubhouse. His Brother's try to Support and comfort him, but the looks of sorrow in their eyes for him is more then Shane can bare. He soon realizes staying in the world He has Known and loved is not an option. Soon Shane is on his Iron Horse with the wind in his face and no destination! As Shane rides He finds the pain he feels for his loss begin to lessen!

With advice from a Mysterious Biker he keeps running into, Shane finds himself at a Micmac Indian Camp. While the two Share their pain they soon begin to feel something for each other. Is it possible for either of them to feel love again while still suffering from such a great loss? I am pleasantly impressed with Iron Horse Rider. As one who lives the biker lifestyle, I must say I was pleased to see not only did Ms. Laudan write an unforgettable tale, but did so with great insight into the world of bikers. This is a book I will revisit many times, I'm sure of it. Upon visiting Ms. Laudan's website I was pleased to see there will be a sequel in the near future. Well done, Ms. Laudan. I'm sure your book will be on many a biker's keeper shelf.
