About the Author
John R. Hildebrand is a 1950 civil engineering graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. His civil engineering career spanned more than 40 years and involved many highway, airport, railroad, and rail rapid transit projects. He is also the author of A Mennonite Journal, 1862-1865: A Father's Account of the Civil War in the Shenandoah Valley.
