Product Description

A front row look at the band that spearheaded 1970s British heavy metal reveals the raw, complete story fans have been waiting for. This comprehensive work features exclusive interviews with past members, many of whom have not previously spoken on the record, including colleagues, friends, managers, and promoters. The ups and the downs, the splits and the reunions, the sex and the drugs, and many previously unpublished photos are included, making this an essential item for any heavy metal fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, February 2, 2007
This was a really good book. I have read several Maiden biographies over the years so most of what was in this book I already knew, but it was still a good read and brought back a lot of good memories. Worth picking up.

4.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining Maiden biography, January 22, 2007
By Keith Wilfort (Hawthorne, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Great read for any fan of Maiden and rock music in general. Although it's unauthorized the book sticks to the facts with no muck raking. because of numerous contributions from former "insiders" it provides an in-depth look at Iron Maiden's history.

3.0 out of 5 stars Maiden Bio, August 12, 2008
This is a well written bio that I enjoyed. It's a must for any Maiden fan. I found that the author covered the subject matter in enough detail without going too far into trivial things. That said, I did find the last few chapters of the book very disjointed and a bit 'ecclectic' for want of a better word. I got a little lost here. Nevertheless the subject matter was very good. Well written and very interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Up the Irons
I have been a Maiden fan for 20+ years and have been looking for a decent biography of the group. This one is about as close to the true story as I have read. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars This book sucks
Very winded, boring book. I've heard this from several people (big Maiden fans like me) as well. Simply put...don't waste your money on this garbage.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wanted to like it... I really did....
I agree with that other reviewer, this book was OK. I am a big Maiden fan, but this book is too long. About halfway through, they're still on "Piece of Mind". Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but long in the wind
As an Iron Maiden fan since their debut album, I was really excited about this book. Less than halfway through it (the album "Number Of The Beast), I'm not sure if I'll continue... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for a Maiden fan!
Gave this as a gift to a huge Iron Maiden fan and the person really liked it. Says it shows all the changes the band went through and the stuff that happened along the way.
