METAL FATIGUE...,

Superheroes make good movies but usually awful games. Someday this rule will acquire an exception. But that day is not today.
IRON MAN suffers from more than the problems of a bad port. Sure, controls are awkward but one eventually gets used to them. The missions seem childish but I had no higher expectations from a game released only to ride the blockbuster movie wave. What I could not get past was how underdeveloped the graphics were! Yes, I turned all options to their highest setting. No matter, graphically the game is comparable to 5-6 year old releases! HALF LIFE2 had much better surfaces, environments and effects. The same is true for DOOM 3 and QUAKE 4. I had to go back to UNREAL 2 to find something to compare IRON MAN with - and even that 6 years old game wins hands down! The gameplay never takes off either. Flying is fun but only within the (very limited) confines of the predesigned area. All in all, IRON MAN demonstrates all the characteristics of a rush-job carried out by the developing team's bench-warmers. Only for very dedicated Iron Man fans. And even then, a masochistic streak is required...

The game itself, as far as Game play, is fair... not much more. the graphic suck. the processor "required" is supposed to be a 3 gig processor and a modern graphics card... I can't for the life of me tell you why. As others have stated, the game is a port from the PS2 version, meaning crappy graphics and bad textures. Also, the game is short. Very short. not to mention the claim that it is a free roaming world is misleading at best you still have linear missions to accomplish, the only thing 'free roaming' is the way you choose to proceed to your clearly pointed to objective. And I swear that Psycho-mantis from Metal Gear Solid is the badguy in one of the levels... save your money, if you have a next gen console system the game may be better on that, but I seriously want to sue Sega for misleading me.

Please note that the PC version of the game is a port from the PlayStation2 version of the game. The in-game graphics are "old gen" as a result, and poorly ported at that! If graphics are important to you, you'd be better off purchasing the 360 or PS3 version of the game.
A few other differences between the next/current gen version of the game and the PC/PS2 version: * Upgrades are not purchased, the items you use the most are automatically upgraded. *There are fewer unlockables and missions in the PC version.

I bought this game off of Ebay. Yet another example of Amazon being too pricey. I got the game, installed in and was instantly told that I needed to insert the correct disk.
I went to Sega's website figuring they had a fix for it. Well there are about 25-30 treads on their website forum talking about this very error and then Sega, puts out a patch, but the link on the website is for the European version of the patch. I waited a couple of days, till they got the right link Installed it and it still didn't work. I called sega tech support on my own dime, sent them all of my computer spec's and they proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do for me. HMMMMM I can Run Doom3 and Far Cry and Assassins Guild all at highest video settings but some cheezey movie game won't run on my XPS? I'd say its the programming not the computer! Save your money!

The video game industry is always changing but one that that has remained the same is that the absolutely amazing games out there have pretty much always been original designs and concepts created for the video-game industry. Iron-Man is a picture-perfect example of the other side of this legacy. The side which creates and developes a game simply to make money out of the hype generated by the movie or tv-show on which it is based. This game is a clunker from the very beginning. Poor controls, extremely dated grapgics, lame environments, and linear gameplay all scream that sega was only trying to cash in on 07's summer blockbuster. Ironman is an awesome comic-char and a well-made video game would have been great. Maybe we'll get soemthing better when they inevitably make a videogame out of the movie sequal but don't hold your breath.

I got this game for my son, it won't run on my XP-machine, only on my daughters Vista laptop. Even with customer support trying to help me out (not much response from them either if you look at the Ironman message board).
With my daughter's laptop there is video display problems (ie seeing through mountains). They rushed this one out and didn't do very good QA. Save your money for something that was finished off and went through QA/QC before shipping.

I was dissappointed in this game. I'm not like other gameplayers where if it's not the greatest game ever I'll trash it. The videos on TV show these great graphics but I think that was for the XBOX or playstaion. The graphics were very basic, bordering on bad. The game play was ok but actually pretty easy and after a while it gets boring. Guys come out shooting at you & you target and fire and they are gone. Nothing special.I actually stopped playing just because of the graphics & gameplay were so basic. I was expecting a lot more. If you're a fan of Ironman you might like it but I'd wait for the price to come down. Not worth $30.

Update: The Sega forums suggest some solutions to the glitchy scenarios which you might want to try. The following is a list of keyboard controls which is different from (and more complete) than the game manual. HTH: Iron Man Keyboard controls W Move Forward A Move Backward S Move Left D Move Right Mouse Move Camera / Target Enemy Left Mouse Button Fire Weapon Middle Mouse Wheel Next Weapon Right Mouse Button Afterburner Space Bar Hover Up X Freefall (when hovering) F Punch / Contextual Action Shift Dash 1 Propulsion Energy 2 Armor Energy 3 Weapon Energy 4 Even Energy Escape Pause Menu Left Alt: Afterburner flight The game starts off nicely enough with a "bash through the tunnels and kill the bad guys" scenario. Simplistic controls, dated graphics but not bad either. Second scenario is flight and weapons testing, an overly long tutorial as you learn the basics of flight and weapons with the suit. Not bad either but then the scenario doesn't end, you can't get out of the warehouse/target range to move on to the next scenario. The walkthrough that's posted online is for the console version, NOT the PC version (appears to be major differences) and there are no patches posted, I'm writing this on May 24, 2008 and hoping that they'll fix the problem and post a patch for it. So far I'm very disappointed, I have to agree with the poster who said this looks like a "rush job" rather than a finished product. I haven't returned it because I'm hoping that they can fix the problem with a patch, I've been an Iron Man fan for many years and am still looking forward to playing this game.

This is a good game that allows yoou to play Ironman, as the name indicates. But the developers really gutted it for the PC. Gameplay is good but the video is weak compared to the Xbox version, which is just the opposite of how it should be. Otherwise it is an good game but it could have been tweaked for the PC instead of just ported.
