Product Features

  • this is the Gameboy version (Not A Wii Game)Iron Man and X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal is the title of a video game published by Acclaim Entertainment and developed by Real Sports and Realtime Associates for the PlayStation 1, Sega Saturn, Game Boy, Game Gear, and the DOS in 1996. In the one or two-player side-scrolling arcade game you battled various villains from the Iron Man and X-O Manowar comic book series.
  • Great for collectors (Gameboy System sold seperately)Both Iron Man and X-O Manowar can jump, punch, shoot an unlimited supply of laser beams (that can be upgraded through icons) and use a limited supply of fuel to fly. At the start of each mission, a computer screen informs you of your objectives.
  • Super great gameplay (Not Wii Game)During the game you can collect medical icons to restore your health, and other icons to give your more fuel power, strong laser blasts, and a special icon that lets you one mega blast from your characters armor chest. The game also allows you to destroy various gas canisters, metal wiring and control panels to locate more icons, deactivate certain weapons, or advance in the game.
  • Great for all ages (Works only on the Gameboy and later Gameboy models only)
  • Hard to find video game (Gameboy version)The storyline is revealed through onscreen text, instead of animated sequences. Iron Man and X-O Manowar must team up in order to stop a team of supervillains from grabbing the lost fragments of the Cosmic Cube. During the game it is also revealed that the space aliens that Aric stole his X-O Manowar armor from, want it back. The two super heroes battle through several levels, familiar to comic book fans, to stop the terrorists and their supervillain leaders from trying to rule the universe.

2.0 out of 5 stars Another side-scrolling action, October 22, 2000
This review is from: Iron Man X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal (Video Game)
This is just another sidescrolling action with comic characters in it. Not much new gameplay elements to offer. The features would be the relatively good 3D graphics and you can occasionally shoot into the background. This somehow does make the game difficult because some of the crucial targets are in the background and if not destroyed, you will notice that ou may end up restarting that level without knowing what is going on.

Power-ups are not fantastic, it just gives larger area for shots and not much special abilities to look forward to.

Go for it only if you love side-scrolling action, otherwise i would not recommend it to people who want to try it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Another Side Scolling Genre, October 22, 2000
This review is from: Iron Man X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal (Video Game)
This is just another side-scrolling game with no new gameplay elements to make it stand out from the rest.

The 3D graphics are decent but not that great and the sound is not great either, gets boring after a while.

The only features I can mention is its attempt to add more dimensions to the standard side scroller but it makes the game resonable more difficult and not as enjoyable since sone crucial targets are in the backgrouns and you got th destroy then or else you will find that you will just lose a life and start from the check point again.

I would only recommend this for side scrolling lovers or fans of Iron Man and X-) Manowar, otherwise its best to stay clear of it.
