Samurai Jack perhaps has some of the best music of any cartoon series, ever, and it has James L Venable to thank. Iron Monkey, while not the best of movies, also shows off Venable's talent in freedom. This is first-rate modernized classical Japanese theme-music (is that a genre?). Its reminiscent of the music from The Seven Samurai and Ran, this soundtrack is a sheer delight. He has also worked on more poppy pop-art, like "The Powerpuff Girls," (also by the team that brought you Samurai Jack) and Kevin Smith's "Jay and Silent Bob Strike back." Give it a listen and a buy, especially if you want to be on the edge of what's "hot." Venable will be making more, and will be given his due in due time. Don't miss out. Own "the T-Shirt [or album] that proves you where there, that you heard of him first."

This score is a great listen. It's not only beautiful, but the fight scenes include fabulous percussion. Put in your CD player in your car and just enjoy.
