The easy to read and inspiring story of Dr. Ross, one of Canada's pioneer female doctors. She gave up a comfortable life in Montreal to treat illness and injury in frontier Manitoba. A wonderful book that is a testament to one woman's determination to practice medicine; she had to overcome predjudice against female doctors, and the dangers of frontier life. This book makes settlement of the Canadian West come alive, and will show junior high school girls, and anyone interested in our pioneer heritage, how Canada was built by the determination and faith of people like Dr. Ross
