Editorial Reviews

Pete Francis new record Iron Sea and the Cavalry belongs in a classic jukebox that holds only your favorite records. From the pulsing single ''Shooting Star and the Ambulance,'' to the dreamy ''Heavenly Boat,'' to the sweet and familiar title track, Iron Sea and the Cavalry represents the work of a true craftsman. Francis spent years as a member of the renowned independent band Dispatch, writing such fan favorites as ''May Day,'' ''Two Coins,'' and ''Ride a Tear.'' Without a record label, radio support, or conventional PR, the band sold an astonishing 750,000 records through word of mouth. In July of 2007 Dispatch reunited for a three night stand of benefit concerts at Madison Square Garden, becoming the only unsigned band to ever play the legendary venue, and sold out all three shows in a matter of minutes.

This album is amazing. Each time I listen to it just gets better. If you like Bob Dyaln, Wilco, M. Ward, Jack Johnson, Neil Young, etc. you will love this album. I just saw Pete Francis and his band live on the CD release tour for this album and it was amazing.. check out a show if there's one in your area!! [...]

I ordered this after seeing Pete play in Philadelphia recently. I love every song on the album and would recommend it to anyone who likes Dispatch, or Dave Matthews, or anyone in that range of music. My personal opinion is that it's his best album so far! I decided to buy the physical cd (rather than downloading it) as kind of a collectors item. As for Amazon, I got it right away. No waiting for the order.

Pete Francis is new to me. This CD was recommended by a true friend. He knew just what type of music to suggest. I love this album.
