Product Description

A brilliant accessory to the wind spinner, this spinner motor is solar powered. It spins at 50 RPM which is the perfect speed to admire the wind spinner. This motor also makes for a great wind replacement when hanging your wind spinner indoors.

Originally when I saw my beautiful butterfly wind spinner I bought it on sight but refused to pay the price for a battery powered spinner for it. When I got it home...it was beautiful but wouldn't spin on it's own with just the wind or at least moved very little. With the solor powered spinner.......as long as it's sunny out.....it spins!!!! Which is awesome!!!!! I LOVE it!!!!! It's just exactly what I was wanting and I hope it lasts for many years!!!!! Depending on how it does.......I may purchase more in the future!!!!! ; )

Yesterday I received two of these spinners and immediately set them out in the sun to charge up. After getting direct sunlight for about 12 hours I attached my spinners and turned them on. And... nothing.

They didn't come with any instructions so I went back and read the boxes the came in. On the back of the box towards the bottom it says "Only works in direct sunlight. Does not store energy."

That information is NOT in the product description. But the description does say "This motor also makes for a great wind replacement when hanging your wind spinner indoors." Which is impossible unless it's getting direct sunlight through a window.

None of that matters though because, when I attached my spinners and DID put them in direct sunlight, they didn't have enough power to spin anyway.

I think I'll just pick up a couple of battery operated spinner motors and use rechargeable batteries.

While this motor does not store the solar energy, it will spin when placed in direct sunlight. When placing this motor indoors, placing it a sunny location at a window will give it enough power to turn the wind spinners. We apologize that this was not the experience that you had. It stopped working after it rained. It lasted about 2 months outdoors in the spring. Before that it was very nice to see my spinner spinning, Direct sunlight was needed to operate.

Works as intended. Nothing to assemble. Just Hang it up and add sun!
I would like to see a model that stores power.

This little spinner works (when there is sun). We have 2 wind spinners and a tail on it and it works great.

For some reason my spinner wasn't turning as I had hoped. I'm sure it's because of the way the wind comes in my backyard. This Solar Powered motor is great, I don't turn it off because once the sun is no longer on it it stops. It doesn't store energy, so no need to keep turning it on/off. I have not experienced rain with it though. In reading some reviews, people were saying it stopped working after it got wet. We will see. But I'm very happy it with it for now.
