Anthony "Manny" Manuele, MillerCoors brewmaster and manager for product development, says it's about time beer takes its place next to wine in white tablecloth restaurants.
"As brewers, we have been behind the curve talking about beer and food," Manuele notes. "So the default choice in restaurants is wine. We want to educate people to look beyond the default choice. Beer goes with food as well as wine, sometimes better than wine. It is incumbent on us to educate people to begin to put beer front and center on white tablecloths. You are starting to see this in Europe, but not in the US, at least not until now."
