DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!,

I recently purchased this elliptical as a holiday gift for myself...it seemed to be well reviewed and was a great deal. I ordered it and even though I was guaranteed shipping within one week, i received it three and half weeks later because the shipping company would only deliver "mondays and Thursdays" during the day time and needed a signature. I work full tiime and had to find a way to be home to sign for the delivery (which also wasn't in the time frame guaranteed). Putting the product together was very easy and when complete the machiene looked and worked great. I used it 3 times and started to hear a "catchin" noise on the right hand side where the pedal would go around (that is underneath the foot piece). I called the customer service number and was told the number is not available. I researched the web for another number and was transfered to a voice mail (in which i received no return call). Last night, i found out that Iron Man has gone Bankrupt and there is still some confusion as to who is going to buy out the remaining products. I was finally transfered to another "service" department who told me that they have yet to recieve any information about the product so they cannot help me. I have had my machiene less than a month and apparantly the warranty is not covered on it now that the company is bankrupt! I am at a loss of what to do...it still works, but that noise is beginning to drive me crazy when i use it! SO BE WARNED...IRONMAN HAS GONE BANKRUPT AND WILL NOT HELP YOU WITH YOUR PRODUCT OR COVER YOUR WARRANTY...

Absolute JUNK! - WARNING!,

What a horrible buying experience. We put the unit together and within a week it was making noises. The unit was repaired after about 2 months of waiting for parts. It turns out that the welds were defective from the factory on the pedal crank mechanism.
2 weeks later the control head electronics failed. No control over resistance or timer or anything. This time, after another long wait, a new control head was sent out but the technicians here could not repair the unit. They gave up! I was told I could return the unit to them or the place of purchase for a refund. Thank goodness I got a refund before the company went belly up. Avoid this unit like the plague.

We have the elliptical now for two months. We bought it knowing that replacing parts will be an issue and that the warranty probably won't mean much. Still, for that price, an elliptical of that quality is a bargain, however long you get out of it. So far it's fine.
Strengths: it has a lot of programs; it has long strides, and is very stable; it was relatively easy to put together; it's a fairly smooth stride; it can give very powerful resistance; it has a water cup holder. We're getting a lot of use from it. Weaknesses: well, no good place to put your book. the heart rate monitor does not catch the signal from my monitor, and the hand grasps for it are not in a convenient location. Aside from these petty things, it's fine.

We purchased the Elliptical Trainer as an early Christmas gift. It arrived early and was very easy to set up. The instructions were easy to read and follow. We have been using the elliptical for over a month now and love it. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a home gym.

I bought an Ironman elliptical about two years ago for about $800. It was probably used at most 15-20 times. I plugged it in on Jan. 1 and found the elctronic console lit up but did NOTHING ELSE. The machine is unusable, I have tried all the websites and called several "service" companies and found that they can't reach anyone or get any parts either. Ironman went bankrupt and Keys fitness cannnot help. Please, DON'T BUY anything from this company if you don't have the money to toss away!

The elliptical itself feels sturdy and well built. I am 200 pounds and it supports my weight without shaking or wobbling. The short stride and the handles feel comfortable. The console is easy to use and has all the features i needed to keep my heart rate at the right number to loose weight.

My Adventure elliptical is still in pretty new shape probably because I don't put enough time on it. *embarrassed look* :-D For those that might need help with parts, I found this over on Treadmill Doctor's site.
[...] Treadmill Doctor is willing to help people seeking repair parts, based on the inventory they were able to pick up. See their site for a more updated answer on this issue. Hope this info helps anyone needing a part.

Have had problems...,
This review is from: Ironman Adventure Elliptical Trainer (Sports)
After a few months of light to medium usage, our Ironman Adventure started making a minor "click" on many revolutions. After 8 months, that click suddenly turned into a major noise and vibration, making the unit unusable. As it had a one year warranty on parts and labor, we called the number in the manual in early November 2008. The service person was very helpful and promised delivery of parts to my home and that a repair person would call within 72 hours. Neither happened. Multiple calls since then have been met by an answering machine message saying they are moving and can't take calls until (the date keeps changing). Finally we received an e-mail response saying another company would be taking over from Keys Fitness for repair work but "all warrantees are no longer valid"! During all this delay, I disassembled our unit and am confident our problem was a failure in a sealed bearing in one of the petal tubes. I could easily replace the tube if I could get one, but I do not want to pay for one when it was defective and under warranty. I have been pleased with the design, quality of construction in general, and operation of the unit. I do not know of any elliptical I would prefer in this price range if this one were only adequately supported.
