As someone who is passionate about programming languages I think this is one of the best "get started" books I've ever read. It is written in a style which is easy to follow, has some good examples and never gets boring.

Shay first takes you through all the basics of (Iron)Ruby and .NET, to give you a good allround understanding of the syntax. Then he covers the need to know basics about interoperability, testing and frameworks like WinForms, MVC, Rails and Silverlight. So no matter what you intend to use IronRuby for, you have a place to start.

When I bought the book I was not sure which "Iron" language I wanted to focus on, but after reading the book and writing the first little application I have no doubt. Well deserved that Shay has since become a Microsoft MVP, and I can only recommend this book to anyone who wants to get started with IronRuby and see what the DLR has to offer.

It has good details about IronRuby.
Mostly, it has clearly explained details about the ironruby <-> .net interoperability.
I gave it 4 stars because the contents are strangely organized, specially the stuff about .net interoperability.
