thinsulate is a joke,
This review is from: Ironclad CCT-04-L Tundra Cold Condition Gloves, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
I work in a freezer full of frozen foods where the temp is consistantly 10 degrees fahrenheit. after 20 minutes with these gloves on plus a polypropelyne glove liner my fingers had already started getting numb.the padding around the fingers to keep them insulated is nonexistant. I like the dexterity and the grip from these gloves. That's about it. for 49.99 though, I think the average person would be better off buying an extra large ski glove from walmart and layering that up with glove liners to keep warm during work.

These are not gloves - they constitute a finger protection system! A sucker for good propaganda, I bought mine after reading all of the collateral material. Thus far I have not been disappointed. Though heavy, you can work in them (operate equipent etc) although fly-tying might be a stretch. Incredibly warm, I thought I might only be able to wear them under rather infrequent severe arctic conditions. As it turns out, the claims are correct - these gloves breathe. If they hold up like the lighter weight IronClad models, their a bargain at twice the price.

I bought the tundra to work outside, doing heavy labor out here on the east coast during the snow storm. They were totally worth every penny. These gloves kept my hands warm and stood up to hours of abuse. These guys definitely know what they are doing. I've seen companies copy their look, but don't be fooled. Their function is second best. I love Ironclad and recommend them to everyone. I tried Youngstown once because they were cheaper and well, you know the saying, "You get what you pay for." My hands are worth more.

My fingers still got cold when using these gloves, and the outside temperature wasn't even below freezing. They do work better than other gloves I have tried, but not anywhere good enough. They are also hard to grab things with the thick fingers. For the price and product description, they should keep my fingers warmer.

The gloves are good for cold weather with 200g of insulation but for snow removal/wet snow removal in 30 min's my hands were cold and still dry. I could see the break down in the glove's ability to be waterproof. However I bought these gloves to keep my hands dry, waterproof, and warm. These gloves failed in the warm category. When the glove's got wet and started retaining water my hands got cold this happened about 30 min's into snow removal. The work part of the gloves has held up for being tough.

I work at Fed-Ex Freightways in Ohio and I've never been as cold as I am when I work there during the night hours. I work on a concrete slab with the wind blowing across at a very heavy pace. Long story short...My fingers and toes freeze during the winter after 5 minutes of being outside. I sort through paper bills, lift heavy products (pipes, sheet metal, boxes, and all kinds of awkward freight) and I needed gloves that keep my hands warm and stand up to the abuse of moving freight. Well I've been using these gloves for 2 weeks so far and I've never had a better glove. Everyone at work wants to spend the extra money and buy these as well. They do get a little cold, but nothing unbearable. I definatly recommend these gloves if you are looking for durability, comfort and warmth!!

These are the best cold weather gloves you can get..they are worth every penny that you pay for them...as a material handler who works out in the elements, these are the best glove to have on your hands in the cold weather..the dexterity is excellent and I've had to take them off in the winter in the freezing weather because my hands got too hot! One downside is that once these get wet inside, they stay wet.....

These gloves indeed deliver solid protection from cold, wind and water while working outdoors in cold climates. They have stood up to the various demands of snow-blower operation, snow shoveling, dog-walking and snowball/snowman packing during an unusually cold winter. You won't be doing any work requiring precision movements of your fingers though; they are rather bulky. Getting the dog's leash on and off the collar was about the finest task I could complete with confidence while wearing these. If you need more precision (and the conditions permit), consider Ironclad's Ironclad's Tac-Ops model instead. |
