For light work only,

I bought these gloves for work(carpentry/framing),the seams began splitting and the elasticity of them wore out pretty fast. The gloves are comfortable and streamline but should only be used for the very lightest of work (raking leaves etc.)The glove sizing is accurate. They have kept my hand warm and I'll probably opt for the more heavier duty pair.

money well spent...,

I am a union carpenter and have spent close to $2000.00 on "brown jersey" gloves and leather palm work gloves since 1987I bought the iron-clad gloves back in July of '02, and have used them to do demo, framing, insulation, drywall (using screws and screwgun)...They function fine and I have washed mine twice! I have long fingernails on my right hand (guitar) and the glove has protected them without a break......... pardon the pun......and the glove has held up well to the contact with the fingernails... I doubt if they would hold-up in concrete or the mud.....

Granted that handling prunings from fruit trees is a stress application for a work glove, but I was still disappointed that a seam in a finger failed on the third use. Nice fit, very comfortable, but I'm not going to buy another pair.

As a professional plumber who does alot of renovations dealing with some very tough material, I found that these gloves held up as well as a good pair of leather gloves. The price is about the same (I paid more for mine someplace else), but the dexterity with the Ironclads is excellent. I'm trying the heavy duty ones to see if they last any longer.

Never bin a big fan of gloves, but,

These glove have changed my mind. Very good dexterity. I am no longer a full time tradesman, and I can't afford to have my hands in the shape they were in when I was in the field. I do more sales then work in the field, and I have developed "office hands". These gloves have saved me more than once when I have to go back in the field. I recently re-shingled my house and wore the gloves from start to finish. No calluses, no tar under the nails, and best of all I had skin on my finger tips at the end of the job. The gloves did take a beating, and I don't think they would make it thru another 15 square, but they fared much better than a pair of brown jerseys would have. A litte tattered and a blown seam or two, but the finger tips stayed on and no holes. They are a little pricey and if they were priced at around $12 to $14, I'd feel that they would be more in line with what I like to spend, but my hands are glad I made the investment. Somebody who uses them everyday will be going thru too many pairs in a year and at the price they are now you would be spend a good bit of your hard earned cash. But price them at $12 bucks and suppliers would not be able to keep'em in stock.

This is my third pair of Ironclad gloves. I used the other two very hard and was amazed at the durability. They feel like no other glove out there. I am so impressed with the gloves that I am going to buy a lot for Christmas presents. Good job Ironclad. Finally a good glove that I can wear all day.

I have had these gloves for at least 4 or 5 years. They have held up great with medium use. I will use these gloves because they are tough and not bulky at all.

Only had them for a full workweek so far. Delivery driver. Great palm and fingertip feel, and I can do all the things I need to do in them (DIAD). Great X cross grip on the palm, the terrycloth part over the thumb is good for keeping the sweat out of your eyes. And the back is a light spandex mesh. Now if only they can last. Week one: just broken in. If they last a month I'll get another pair. When people ask where you got your gloves, you know they look good.
