Ironclad has given hands a new lease with their high-tech approach to glove design. Ironclad gloves are made to protect workers' hands better than other work gloves, without feeling clumsy the way so many work gloves can. The first thing we noticed about these gloves is that they're tailored to fit the natural curve hands have in a resting position, rather than being cut straight, so when the hand isn't working, it can actually relax without the glove pulling the fingers in an uncomfortable direction. The palm of this general-utility glove is made of Amara, a synthetic material that mimics the resilience, grip, and comfort of suede while remaining machine-washable and resistant to water damage. High-wear areas are reinforced with tough DuraClad fabric, making these the toughest-grip gloves we've ever worn. The fingertips are also reinforced, yet we had no problem with dexterous tasks like picking up coins. We also like the cut of the cuff on these gloves. It comes in tight to the wrist to prevent dirt or other materials from pouring in. Why so many other gloves have gaping cuff designs is a mystery. While the gloves themselves won't be damaged by water, they won't keep your hands dry for long if you're working in really wet conditions. But that can be said of most work gloves, and everything considered, Ironclad gloves are some of the toughest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-work-in gloves we've tried. --Brian Trinen

Customer Reviews

They last a very long time as I have had mine for years.
Jimmy
I used a pair of these gloves for less than a month and the stitching on the fingers gave out in one place and had started to come apart in about 3 others.
Marc
They are comfortable, they fit well, they are a good protection, and they are well made!

These gloves fit great and they allow you to do detail work that usually can't be accomplished with other types of work gloves. The design is very well thought out, with the soft backing and extra grip on the fingers.
BUT...I've ripped two seams after using them for only 2 months. And I don't even use them for the really sloppy work like moving wet firewood around or lifting concrete pavers. For the price, one would expect better durability.

Our company installs manufactured housing and we need gloves that are very durable and comfortable I thought that these gloves would do the trick so I bought 5 pairs for my crew several different sizes from Med to XLarge Hevy Utility after only a couple of days they started to fall apart the Duraclad Re-enforcement pads peeled away and the leather palms developed holes in them But I do have to say that they were extremly comfortable though not very useful in cold weather or in wet muddy conditions I dont think I will purchace the cold weather version of these gloves either
NONE OF OUR GLOVES LASTED MORE THAN A MONTH

I purchased these gloves and started a small remodeling job the next day. After one day of demo one of the finger seams had started to come apart. On day two we framed and they developed a few small holes in the palm. For the money spent I could have gotten three pairs of leather work gloves that would of lasted three months. If you work hard these gloves are the wrong choice.

I was hesistant to buy these earlier in the year as $30 is a bit pricey for a pair of gloves. Well, my wife surprised me with them on my birthday and I immediately put them to use while repairing our deck flooring. It was about 42 degrees out and my fingers NEVER got cold. I almost forgot I was wearing gloves, they fit so well. The velcro wrist closure was wonderful at keeping dirt and such from getting inside my gloves (unlike my old, generic leather work gloves.) Consider me sold.

I was skeptical of these gloves when I first bought them. But after using them for 3 months in demolition and framing I can say your not wasting your money on these gloves. They have yet to show any wear. I've even washed them and there better than new.

I love these gloves! They fit extremely well, but are cool to wear for extended periods. The Kevlar palm pads are holding up great so far, but I'm not too sure about the stitches that they are sewn in with (obviously not Kevlar thread). Aside from that, they are very well thought-out - the terry cloth "brow-wiper" on the back of the thumb is evidence of that. Definitely an improvement over loose-fitting leather gloves with wide cuffs that act as dirt funnels.

I used a pair of these gloves for less than a month and the stitching on the fingers gave out in one place and had started to come apart in about 3 others. I had used the gloves around my home, doing light carpentry and groundswork.
It appears from the reviews that I'm not the only one to have this problem.
I called Ironclad and they said, probably defective, no problem just return to amazon - which I did, and received a full refund.
I'd be willing to try them again, but I ended up purchasing a different brand from a local vender.

I am a IRON WORKER, and need the best hand protection money can buy. I tried the Ironclad Heavy Utility gloves in hopes that they would prove to be lighter yet offer good protection against cuts. After only 2 days of use "packing rebar" the threads wore through allowing the "DuraClad" patches to come loose and also one of my fingers kept comming out due to the seam splitting! This is not worth $30.00+ Dollars to me! Stick with the $2.00 double leather gloves we are all so familiar with, they last so much longer.
