I have tough hands to begin with but sometimes you need more protection from hot equipment and objects. These gloves are very comfortable and can withstand a good amount of heat. I use these gloves mostly when working with lead and temperatures about 600-700 degrees. Note they will not be able to take much exposure at these temperatures but if you spill anything on them you will have a few seconds, ( 5 or 6 ) before you start to feel it. You can not grab and hold really heavy hot objects for long because of heat saturation. When used within its range they work well and have saved me from burns many times.

I bought these gloves to help me in sweating some pipes and they work as promised and feel great.

In fact they were so comfortable, I started to wear them for other tasks for cut protection and started to see abrasion wear.

Now to be fair they did wear slightly better than regular work gloves, but given the price I decided to now only use them for high temperature tasks now.

Both my wife and I have used these gloves for carpentry work and light welding jobs in our line of business and they have worked well (1) one advantage is that it protects without causing your hands to sweat (2) they can be washed unlike my leather work gloves which loose their usefullness after washing.

I was surprised when I received these gloves to see the warning not to use near open flame as they may catch fire. This seems like a significant limitation in a glove advertised for its heat resistance. This limitation should have been in the produce description.

Bought with the intent to wear for metal work, and I wouldn't even use them as an oven mitt. Wears extremely fast and don't not hold up to any heat. Leather gloves work better.

the gloves are good because they are made of good material which prevents cuts and abrasion BUT I suggest not touching anything hot because it cannot stand more than 2 seconds of holding a hot object, therefore they do not withstand the suggested temperature.

I posted a photo of my (very) well-worn Ironclad Heatworx 450 gloves to show that as bad as these gloves look, the liner inside never ripped and I never got burned.

1) The glove tops are not exactly flame resistant, but they do have some kind of fierce liner, so even though the outer material burned, I did not. I'm a blacksmith and I get my hands in a lot of fire. For straight up welding or fabrication where you can keep the heat in front of you... your gloves will look a lot better than mine do.

2) If you are like me and occasionally do not switch to new gloves before grinding, the glove front and liner will hold up okay, although the fabric on the back of the hand will rip if you get a grinder near it.

3) The leather (or whatever it is) on the palm and fronts of the fingers is resilient. I can rip or burn through leather welding gloves in about two minutes, but whatever these are made of is sort of layered. So instead of ripping or burning, the layers peel off. This is a good thing because it takes a while to get to skin.

4) I do a lot of hammering and a tight grip is key. These gloves have a great grip, much better than the white leather welding gloves or the big bulky insulated ones. They feel kind of like the soft tan TIG welding gloves, but are much more heat resistant.

I'm taking away one star because I wish the fabric on the back of the hands was more like the fabric on the front.

It says that on the gloves when you get them.
It would have been nice to know that before buying them.
Pretty disappointed.
