5.0 out of 5 stars By far the best gloves I've ever owned
I work in the crane/construction industry. I spend every day handling heavy cables, shackles, slings, metal, lumber.. you name it. I do all of that in every weather condition imaginable. In the past five years I've grown to become a glove fanatic. I love the way comfortable gloves feel and I'm always trying out new pairs of gloves as the ones I have get destroyed...

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Glove
This glove was just OK...I like the leather palm, but it just doesn't fit as well as other gloves that I have tried. You can feel the seams in the fingertips and the glove left blisters on my hand, and blisters are caused by movement. Make sure you get a good fitting glove. The Mechanix Wear 4.0 glove is similar to this glove but with a better fit, any of those gloves...

In the past five years I've grown to become a glove fanatic. I love the way comfortable gloves feel and I'm always trying out new pairs of gloves as the ones I have get destroyed.

About two years ago I bought a pair of these Ranchworx gloves as a bit of a splurge. I was gambling on the Ironclad line based on the decent performance of some of their synthetic gloves, even though those gloves can have stitching issues. Sometimes I'll have a pair of the synthetic kind last 5 or 6 months, sometimes 5 or 6 weeks. I'm used to buying a new pair of gloves every two or three months on average because of that, and I accept it as the norm for the abuse I put them through. But these Ranchworx gloves have made it through every bit of the worst conditions I come across, and they've done it in spades. I still buy new pairs of gloves, just because I'm a maniac and love to try new gloves, but I keep coming back to these things. They're amazing. I've gotten diesel on them, picked up sharp metal, and handled rusty chains on a daily basis. All I have to do is wash them off, wring 'em out and throw them back in my car. Awesome. They've been wet and dry so many times now I can't even begin to count. I've finally used them up and made it all the way through the leather, but man, did it take a crap load of effort. If Ironclad gloves fit you well, these gloves will impress you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gloves, November 16, 2008
This review is from: Ironclad Ranchworx Gloves RWG-04-L, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
These gloves are fantastic. The excellent fit coupled with the over all durablity makes these gloce perfect for heavy yard work. I've been using a sigle pair for almost a year now and it wasn't untill i had to split and stack 8 ricks of wood in a weekend untill they started to show some wear. I would seriously recommend these gloves for anyone doing any heavy yard work or simmilar work.

I used one pair of these for 5 months of trail building, including timber and rock work. Plenty of mud as well. I really liked the Kevlar reinforcements, but the seams on the roll-top fingers failed after 4 months. Duct tape solved most of the problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't hold up - Ironclad Stood Behind Product, April 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
UPDATE:

I just wanted to update this. I sent the gloves back to Ironclad and today received a replacement pair. I am glad because I really like these gloves. I am hopeful these will hold up better and that I just got some that were defective in some way.

I purchased a pair of these because I saw a television show about them and because they were washable leather so I'd be able to wash the sweat out of them.

I am not a hard user of them. I also chose this pair because they are called "Ranchworx" so I assumed they were tough enough to work on the ranch, i.e do some fencing (no barb wire), move hay bales, move fence panels, etc.

Well they didn't last 6 months! My right index finger (dominant hand) was worn through and only gets larger and larger. Also split at the seems below my thumb.

Then when I called them to return them for a warranty replacement they said I had to send them in and they would "review" them. Could be weeks before anything happens.

How disappointing!

If you need a good, tough, durable pair of gloves...I would avoid these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Took me 9 months to put a hole in them, April 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am the Destroyer Of Gloves. I bought a $50 pair of leather gloves that I killed in 3 weeks, and dozens of $10 Sears gloves that I killed in about a month, but these gloves were amazing. True, they do roll a bit at the fingers, and I wish they were more heat resistant, and I had to install my own rings so I could attach them to my tool belt, but the EXO-Guard(tm) flexible finger impact protection is Super=Amazing! I do lighting and A/V, so I need a super-tough glove. I also hate spending money on fall-apart junk like those pricey S e t W e a r gloves. These are heavy duty and hard to kill. Now, if they only made them in black...

5.0 out of 5 stars gloves work singletrack, June 11, 2009
This review is from: Ironclad Ranchworx Gloves RWG-04-L, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
Having worn them now for a couple hundred miles on towpaths and singletrack, these gloves compare favorably to those I've bought in bike shops and seem much sturdier. Naturally, they are made for work, not play. Seams are strong and do not chafe over 10's of miles. The velcro closure is sturdy and easily undone for stretch and nutrition/hydration breaks. The leather palm provides some cushion although not really padded like gel, but this is not what one wants on a mountain (get paddles!) nor cyclocross bike. The price was comparable, too, so overall I rate these superior to those commonly offered in bike shops.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best gloves, February 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I truly love these gloves, they are very well made leather in the work areas, areas which usually go first are reinforced. Knuckles protected with flexible rubber. The breathable and absorbent material on the upper part of hand. They are tough but not too heavy, and very durable, the only glove that has lasted as long in many jobs. And they look good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fitting glove - comfortable and durable, December 13, 2007
This review is from: Ironclad Ranchworx Gloves RWG-04-L, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought several pairs of these for work and play. I find them to be very comfortable and durable. They are reinforced at key places (e.g. fingertips, web where thumb and pointer meet, etc.). I'm happy to wear them working in the yard or out on the trail. My suggestion would be to get them a size larger than you usually need. I have relatively small hands, but the large gloves fit me perfectly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than most, December 21, 2011

I'm a NYC electrician in commercial and industrial construction. I work with all types of objects, some heavy, sharp, rough. 8 hours a day for 5 days a week, these gloves lasted about 3 months before the fingertips started falling apart. They are much better than the typical inexpensive glove you find, but for the price I hoped they would last longer. I like the palm padding and tough rubber on the knuckles though.
