This Ironing Board Cover & Pad Heavy (49x18) Retro - Polder #IBC-9549-462 has a 4 layer design for Heavy Usage. It is in a harder to find size of 49L x 18W and is for a regular shaped board (elongated nose with a rounded tip, rectangular body and straight back with rounded edges) that is wider then normal. Please note that it does fit a board sold by Cosco that is this shape and size. The one piece heavy duty cotton cover has 4 layers superbly designed with a heavy duty cotton cover and then a 5mm foam pad and a 5mm polyester felt pad separated by a steam repellant layer with all layers sewn-in so the cover/pad 'adheres' to your board and keeps your cover from slipping. This quality design stand ups to even the most demanding ironing and also helps keep your ironing smooth and easy. This one piece cover & pad attaches with a bungee cinching cord (heavy corded elastic) all around the edge to also ensure a snug fit for your board. As with all quality Covers & Pads from Polder it is scorch and stain resistant and has a Limited 10 Year Warranty. This cover and pad will definitely fit the Polder board models 4918 and a similar board supplied by Polder to Cosco. It will also fit other boards with the same shape and dimensions. About 3 years ago I purchased a 48x19 ironing board because I like the size and I have been running myself ragged trying to find a replacement cover and pad as the pad that came with the board is ultra thin. This item is not only a perfect fit but it is made of very sturdy material and the pad is nice and thick. And from the prices I have seen for smaller covers at places like Bed, Bath and Beyond, this is definitely a bargain!

The cover/pad definitely was heavy-duty and has a fun retro design, but unlike most ironing board covers this one is not adjustable.
Do yourself a favor and measure your ironing board before ordering. Otherwise, you'll find yourself making a return to Amazon like me.

There were several flaws in the cover. Holes etc. Is not standing up as expected.
