This treadmill is pretty much as advertised. Made by Keyes, like many other treadmill brands. Built in fan is nice, and it's not too noisy when running. Not too hard to assemble, has a nice display of a track with lights to show where you would be. 4 numerical displays cycle between time and lap number, calories, etc., so you can't always see what your times is. In particular, you can't see within 4 seconds what your mile time is, since it shows you that you finished the lap, hiding the time display for some seconds. The "shock assist" is so weak that it's almost worthless. If you let go during the unfolding process it will come crashing down, so don't let go despite the shock assist!
Other features: extra speed and incline controls near the hand grips so you don't have to let go if you don't want to; one-touch controls on the front panel allow you to go directly to, for example, 5 degree inclination or 8 mph, with one push. My delivery was missing the chest strap heart monitor. I called customer service and they were very nice, and said they would send one out. I haven't been able to get the pulse grips to work yet either; he suggested cleaning them. The service person also admitted that the shock assist was hardly anything, and not upgradeable. I pointed out that the recommended NAPA 8300 lubricant was very hard to find, so he said any dry silicone would be OK. The chest arrived but still did not function. I called again, and, to make a long story short, I took a digital photo and emailed it to customer service, who determined that I needed an entire new motherboard with daughterboards--the two daughterboards controlling the handgrips and chest strap were just missing! The new motherboard was Fedex'd to me but the Chritmas holidays made the delivery take longer than expected. Eventually this new motherboard arrived, and I installed it, and now everything works fine (except the poor shock assist, which still bugs me. On this point customer service was not helpful, only apologetic). In the end, I still conclude that this treadmill is "OK, not great". My unit certainly seems like evidence of quality control problems. But hours spent with customer service did pay off.

After reviewing this treadmill in Consumer Reports- we decided to purchase this- and it arrived on March 1st. This treadmill has been making 'squeeking' noises since the very start when it is on any incline higher than 1.5. I have contacted Customer Service- my husband (who is very mechanical) worked on it for over two hours with no resolution and now I am waiting for them to have a "service tech" call me- who is now two days past the date they told me I could expect a call. If this squeek was not an issue, I would be very happy with the treadmill. It runs well and is easy to use- and I would rate it highly. However, as it is defective and no-one at Ironman seems to care to resolve the issue, it is very frusterating.

The treadmill worked great for about five months and then the motor started smoking. Customer service sent me a replacement motor and within 2 days it started smoking again. I called three weeks ago and they said they were sending a service technician...they never came. I called again. They said it was a glitch and that they would put in another repair order and I would hear from the repair man within three days...I never heard back and they never came. I called for a third time, once again they said there was a glitch in the work order. They said they called the repair man and he would call me that same day to set up a time for service...the call never came. I am going to call back on Monday but I bet the same thing will happen. I will never buy another Keys Fitness product again. The treadmill isn't well built and the customer service is a disaster. Please do yourself a favor and buy another treadmill.

I am very pleased with my treadmill which I recieved January,2007. It is a high end treadmill and was one of the ones recommended in a recent Consumers Reports. The price was decent and weighed less than some of the other ones recommended. You will need two strong people to lift and/or slide the box. It weighs approximately 232 pounds. But once it is together it can be rolled to another area in the folded position. The assembly instructions were pretty straight forward. Everything went together nicely. I am a fairly handy female. I think it helps to lay out the parts, so as not to put the wrong screws in place and then have to go back and change them. One thing I would strongly recommend would be to go on the [...] and download the Users Manual and read it before it arrives. I did this and when it came I already knew what to expect. Hopes this helps.

I tried out a lot of different units, and read up on what I should look for. I need a unit that's not going to fall apart on me. I had kept hearing about this model, and read lots of good things about the company in places like Consumers Guide. I thought it was great when I tried one, but Amazon had the better deal and I didn't mind waiting to get it. I've used it now for about about 2 weeks, and I can see why I kept hearing good things about it. It's really built like a brick *********, and there was a lot of attention in the details. Everythings right where it needs to be, it's nice n' quiet, and looks good. Overall, I'm quite happy with it.

We've only had this for a few weeks now. It works well, does everything a treadmill is supposed to do, seems to be built well and was priced very reasonably compared to other new treadmills for sale. Only minor complaint: The Chassis is a little bit squeeky at certain positions on the tread.

The walking length is fabulous and nothing to kick in front of you! Wonderfully accessible controls and smooth running! Only thing I would change is the fan - it is stationary and needs to pivot so you can have the wind hit your face in more than one position.

I have had this for a month now and everything is working properly. The only thing negative was getting it in the house- very heavy you will need a lot of help.

Big waste of money - electrical problems from the biginning,

We've had electrical problems from the beginning. The last time it was functional, my husband turned on the fan and it turned itself off - as if someone pulled the plug. Then we got the SI1 error - as if the safety strap had been removed, but hadn't been. Now we don't even get the SI1 error and nothing happens when you turn it on. And, no one will fix them, now that Keys is out of business. They say that it's our loss! Funny, though... Dick's Sporting Goods replace their customer's with another model. Hmmmm... No more Play it Again Sport for us!!!! And definitely, no more Ironman!!!!
