About the Author

Marjorie Fields is the Director of Early Childhood Teacher Education at the University of Alaska Southeast, offering graduate programs for kindergarten and primary-grade teachers as well as preschool teachers. Deborah Hillstead has been a kindergarten for more than 20 years, and has made several presentations at national NAEYC conferences on the topic of early literacy. They co-authored 15 Instant & Irresistible Learning Centers That Build Early Reading & Writing Skills (Scholastic, 2000).
