4.0 out of 5 stars Irv Gotti Presents: The Murders
Nowadays everyone knows who Murder Inc. is but when this album came out in early 2000 people were still sleeping. The Murders consist of Ja Rule (now one of hiphops most well known names, and the man who brought them to the forefront), Vita (no longer with the Crew), Tah Murderer (now known as Cadillac Tah), 0-1, Black Child, Ronnie Bumps and Chris Black and of course Irv...

3.0 out of 5 stars Alright, but not great
This album could've been better off a Ja Rule solo. No disrespect for the Murderers but every Ja track was hot while the others fizzled. Some songs were tight as hell such as "We Don't Give A F@*k" and "How Many Wanna Die". But what about the others like "If You Were My B#tch" and "Tales From the Darkside" (which just didn't fit in...

4.0 out of 5 stars Irv Gotti Presents: The Murders, November 30, 2002
This review is from: Irv Gotti Presents the Murderers (Audio CD)
Nowadays everyone knows who Murder Inc. is but when this album came out in early 2000 people were still sleeping. The Murders consist of Ja Rule (now one of hiphops most well known names, and the man who brought them to the forefront), Vita (no longer with the Crew), Tah Murderer (now known as Cadillac Tah), 0-1, Black Child, Ronnie Bumps and Chris Black and of course Irv Gotti head of the firm. Guest appearances on this album come from DMX (now beefing with Ja Rule), Shady, Dave Bing, Lil Mo, Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek and Busta Rhymes. Album is 25 tracks in total. "Murderers" starts off the album and is a hardcore banger, Ja Rule, Black Child and Tah Murder work well toghther on this track, dropping nice blazing music. "We Dont give a F***" continues this hardcore pace. After this there a few less then memorable tracks then on "We Murderers Baby" Ja Rule and Vita, drop a deadly collabration, and is one of the illest tracks on the album. One of my favourite tracks has Ja going solo on "How Many Wanna Die", Ja comes out really strong, and gets you pumped. Black Child and Ja come out on "We Getting High Tonight" a relaxed track about ladies and the club. "We Different" and "Rebels Symphony" follow and are nice banging tracks. Black Child comes out solo on "Black or White", a track where he talks about growing up, and rhymes nicely, look forward to the day he comes out solo. "If you were my B****" is a funny relaxed back track. Dave Bing and Lil Mo drop a decent track called "Somebodys Gonna Die Tonight". Album closes with Holla Holla Remix. "Irv Gotti Presents: The Murderers" displays some of the labels nicest talent, and alot of people should check this out, would change a common misconception that Murder Inc is all about R&B Collabs and cant come hard. Its nice to see that this group has gotten the recognition they have deserved, think in 2003 we are going to see more solo releases from all of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic gangsta S**+, December 17, 2004

This review is from: Irv Gotti Presents the Murderers (Audio CD)
This album is hardcore gangsta $*!+ from the Murderers. Ja is hard, black child anf caddilac tah are real hard as is 0-1, dave bing and others, this was before Ja turned soft and even if it barely went gold, it is a great CD. It has 18 tracks, most feature Ja, Black Child, and Caddillac Tah with Vita on about half, and a few others are on a couple of songs as well. It only has one song I skip, 3 classics, 10 great songs, and the others are ok. Production is handled by Irv Gotti and DJ Reb & Lil Rob and they do a good job. A Must have rap album for all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vita, Vita, Vita, March 22, 2000

Instead of blessing us with Murder Inc., which is Jay Z, DMX, and Ja-Rule, to those that don't know, Irv Gotti presents "The Murderers". The Murderers consist of Ja Rule, some of his homies and Vita, the Murda Mommy. The best moments on the CD are when everyone gets a turn on the mic on one song. Ja Rule displays his usual murderous style and the rest of The Murderers compliment each other. "We Don't Give A F____", "S____ Gets Ugly", and "Dem Niggaz" are the best examples of this. Ja Rule also blesses us with "How Many Wanna Die", which was on the "Light It Up" soundtrack and the tight "Holla Holla (Remix)", that features an all star cast along with the Murderers. DMX even shows up on a solo track for "The Murderers" called "Tales From The Darkside", another one of the Dark Man's haunting tales. The only problems I have with the album are the miserable r&b, murder attempts, "Somebody's Gonna Die Tonight", and "If You Were My B____" and the other problem is that Black Child and Tah Murdah don't pack the same punch as solo artists as they do with the other Murderers. The surprise of the CD to most people will be "Vita, Vita, Vita". Vita does an excellent job on her only solo song of the album. The Murderers to some people might be a poor man's "Ruff Ryders", but I have to say they did a good job on their first CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars The last good album released from Murder Inc {4/5 stars}, October 2, 2006
This review is from: Irv Gotti Presents the Murderers (Audio CD)
Standout tracks: MURDERERS, DEM N----Z, WE DONT GIVE A F--K, S--T GETS UGLY(Obvious 50 diss), WE MURDERERS BABY, VITA VITA VITA(what were they thinking when they traded her for Charli Baltiwhore?), HOW MANNY WANNA DIE, WE GETTING HIGH TONIGHT, TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE(vintage Dmx joint), GET IT RIGHT, WE DIFFERENT(Kurupt or 50 diss?), REBELS SYMPHONY, BLACK OR WHITE and Crime Scene. Filler: Somebody's gonna die tonight(Lil Mo made it more weak than it had to be), Holla Holla remix(all those people on one track and it still sucked), If you were my bitch(Shade Sheist cant sing) etc. Bottom Line: Dmx might have had a point when he said that Ja rule's lable mates rap better than him. Cadillac Tah and Black Child rap circles around him plus Black Child is underrated anyway. This is the last good album to come out of Murder Inc before Ja went pop and bought his whole record lable down to hip pop hell with him. To all you slavery records/aftermath/g-eunuch fanatics GROW THE F--K UP! Not too long ago you were on Ja' s wood then you jumped on Eminem's wood, then you jumped on 50's c--k, now you're on The Game's wood. I bet your asscheeks must hurt jumping people's bones the way you do! Doing s--t like this its no wonder why rappers have little or no respect for their fans. You are about as loyal as benedict arnold!

It's tight, especially if you like DMX and JaRule. I've had this cd for almost a year now and I still keep it in heavy rotation.

Wow! This is very incredible. So incredible, you may never here an album like it. Good beats, lyrics, attitude, and all that stuff you come to expect from a rap group. This is like the N.W.A. For the East Coast, or a Wu-Tang 2000 Oriented group. It combines both styles, but still remaining faithful to their East Coast roots. If you buy ONE CD this year, make it this one!
