Does exactly what it should
I have used this stud finder for over a year and it has never failed me. It is very accurate and finds the stud edges every time.

Too light to be a paper weight
Too light to be a paper weight,so I can't imagine what its good for. Certainly not finding studs. I originally used an older battery,but it gave the same results with a brand new one,so no excuse there. I have a wall that I just hung the drywall on,and tested it on that. The wall is unfinished,so there is no drywall compound to...

Too light to be a paper weight,so I can't imagine what its good for.Certainly not finding studs. I originally used an older battery,but it gave the same results with a brand new one,so no excuse there. I have a wall that I just hung the drywall on,and tested it on that. The wall is unfinished,so there is no drywall compound to vary the thickness of the gypsum,which could conceivably cause the device to not work properly. I mean...I know exactly where the studs are! They are outlined by screws! This thing could only find about 50% of them! Save your money,and just flip a coin instead...same odds of finding a stud.

This product initially seemed of poor quality to me, just because it's rather cheap plastic. But it has never failed to help me locate virtually anything behind common dry wall. And I've never had to replace the battery.Most definitely worth the money. Justin Daniel Wileman |
