This review is from: Irwin Shaw Four Complete Novels (Hardcover)
Have only read up to about 1/2 of "Beggerman, Thief", but it has been fun "reliving" a novel that I read in High School. I was actually prompted to buy the book again because of a "That 70's Show" episide, where "the parents" were sitting down to watch the mini-series. I had read the book prior to the tv version of the book, so it was interesting to place Nick Nolte and Peter Strauss' faces as the characters of Tom and Rudy. The one complaint that I have is noticing the many, many typograpical errors throughout the two stories I've read so far. Kind of cheapens the great work that Mr. Shaw toiled so carefully for, you know?
