A well made knife.

To change the blade, open the knife to a 45 degree angle and then press the button on the blade holder to release or insert the blade.

I had high hopes for this knife. Sadly i am a little disappointed with the product after using it for the last 2 months. I purchased this knife for the sole fact of its "nut driver/screwdriver" ability. I do heating and air that option really comes in handy when removing the doors from the units without having to carry around a drill or multiple nut drivers. I am completely satisfied with the knife in that regard but sadly the basic functions of the knife really do it in which is something i wouldn't have guessed would have been a problem from a utility knife..

It is difficult to release the blades when removing and installing new ones.
The lever to fold the knife back into itself when closing gets jammed and you have to bang it against something to get it to close.

Its not the worst knife made but there are definitely better options out there.

This is my second folding box cutter knife. The other one is what I would call a first generation folding utility knife and by that I mean how the blade is secured. I believe the early ones were pretty much the same as far as how the blade was held in place. There was a latch on top of the blade that you would pull up. Then there was one on the side of the blade that you would slide down. I never really liked the design but for a time it was all that was available. I always check out the tools when I'm in the hardware store or home center and noticed that there were newer designs for securing the blades on the folding utility knives. I decided to get one of the newer ones but wasn't sure which brand to get so I started reading some reviews on line. I settled on the Irwin model FK250. On this brand you have to open the blade up to a 45 degree angle and push the little button on the side of the blade holder to release the blade. No more accidentally pulling the first latch open just opening the knife. I really like that feature and on the 250 you get the screwdriver tip holder which is nice. I have always had good luck with the Irwin brand name and this folding utility knife is no exception. And of coarse once opened all the way the blade locks open which is a nice safety feature.

Amazing knife i really dont know how any body can not rate this 5*. I hate folding or retracting utility knifes i do heavy construction so fix blades are usually my go to choice but i fell in love with this baby easy to open and close with one hand. I keep this on me all day it comes in very handy. Im on my second one unfortunately i lost my first one but There was no hesitating to buy again

I am a floor installer by trade. I use this knife for everything couldn't even tell you where my old split middle one went never need it. This thing is solid as any other folding utility knife I have ever tried. The blades never slip out when your using it to cut something really stiff, because of the weird blade change on a 45 degree angle lock(which I hated at first but love now). Blade storage could be a bit bigger, but I have no complaints about 2 onboard plus a screw driver.

I have had 1 part break on me, and it was the plastic extra bit storage. Broke in about 6 months. I have had this knife as my MAIN utility knife for over a year now cutting everything from carpet to vinyl to shingles. This thing is tough as nails.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is a very competent tool that would make a decent gift or addition to a backup tool box, but I don't think it makes a great utility knife for a professional. I would prefer that they ditched the screwdriver in favor of an assisted opening mechanism. Instead, it's a 2-handed opener with room for only 2 additional blades.

To me, if you are using a utility knife, you probably already have an actual screwdriver or power drill within reach. Why would anyone choose to use a bit on the back of a utility knife over a proper screwdriver? So, this tool seems less suited to a tool belt and more suited for your glove box or with camping gear. It has some weight and pointed edges, so it makes a good instrument to have if you need to bust through the window of a sinking car (hey, it happens) or some other emergency.

It's a well constructed tool with a belt clip and a nice finish. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, but it's good to have.

No more having the blade retract in the middle of a cut, and the handle shape fits my hand well. A well made knife.
