Biography

Isaac Hayes is known to millions today as the original voice of Chef from South Park, but in the 60s he was a songwriter and session musician for Stax Records, and in the 70s a prominent and influential soul and funk singer.

what can you say about a Guy that has as much overall Depth&Soul as Isaac Hayes? the Man truly Can Play&Arrange and not to mention Sing with such Deepness&Force.He makes every Song be it a Original Song or a Cover all His Own.the Man Brings so Much Life to His work.You Hear many styles&Blends of Music.this Set Captures some of His Best Stuff&also Highlights His Voice.

I only bought it for the Theme from Shaft, but he sings with such distinction because of his deep, sultry voice. "By the Time I Get To Phoenix" and "Walk On By" are sung outstandingly well even though he isn't trying to sound like Glen Campbell or Dionne Warwick who originally recorded their respective hits. I can't stop listening to this CD. It has so many wonderful songs (only ten though), but it is worth the price of admission.
