Isaac's Will is Durso's Genius,
By Mr. Durbano "Burntsweater" (Not-So-Great White North) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Isaac's Will (Paperback)
"Isaac's Will" is a great novel best suited for the teenage boy that is still searching for his "type" of book. Durso obviously understands today's teenager and the sad reality that he or she often calls home. The book captures the reader on the first page and never let's go. The author masterfully weaves humor, symbolism, and fatherly wisdom throughout, the cleverly titled, "Isaac's Will." It is a great story, and I hope there is more to come from this truly talented and creative author.
As an educator, father, and reluctant reader, I highly recommend this novel. It is a quick and engaging read.

Not for Teenagers Only,
By
This review is from: Isaac's Will (Paperback)
Kris Durso has written a novel that will not only appeal to young adults, but also their parents. It's grounded in the popular culture of our times and portrays a world that teenagers will immediately identify as their own. But there's more than that; his characters are ones about whom you come to care deeply. It's not a regional work (its appeal is not limited by geography), but readers from western New York will recognize some of the settings.

Isaac's Will,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Isaac's Will (Paperback)
I'm not a literary scholar by any means. In fact, I may even be mispelling the word "literary". I do know the feeling of listening to great records like sgt pepper or great songs like desolation row, and then following that up with music that is so inferior that it's just......... painful to get through. The dip can be massive. I'll bet the same goes for reading. Right before reading Isaac's Will, I had just finished of mice and men, which I have been told is a decent little novel. I'm not here to compare Durso's novel with steinbeck's. I'll just say...I didn't suffer a dip.
Ok...one quick comparison...Steinbeck's "Curly" is a sweetheart compared to Durso's "Stanton". What a giant prick Kris Durso has created.

Great story- easy to read!,
By A. Dittmar (Greensboro, NC) - See all my reviews

This is a great first novel by Kris Durso! The story flows very well and grabs your attention on the first page. I couldn't put it down! It's written for middle school/high school ages but I think the story is appealing to anyone. Also, the landmarks from Seneca Falls, NY make it an even more fun story if you've ever been to this real life small town in upstate New York. I can't wait to see what Durso will write next!
