This review is from: Isaiah 40-66 (The New Century Bible Commentary Series) (Paperback)
I was angry after reading just a small part of this book and I must say that I'll never recommend it to anyone. He starts right in with the garbage about the author NOT being Isaiah. The worst part however, was the comments on Ch.52,53 etc. You know, the Messianic ones? Well, there's nothing about the Lord Jesus here. Just a bunch of GUNK! I didn't know that these commentaries were so liberal, but I do now. Same with the Interpreters' Bible, Harper's commentary Etc. Why study the Bible if it's not all about Jesus?(He said it is!) I'm grateful that I was taught early on about Jesus and how to look for Him in Scripture. Do yourself a favor and read Ironside, Calvin, Luther, Lloyd-Jones,Spurgeon etc.
